It's for me and I have the money which isn't a problem. I know 800 is a lot but it would be a long term investment for me to clean my cars. My friends have asked me to do their cars so it's possible I might pick up some side money off of it.
I know it's a lot for just a hobby and I've gone back and forth a few times making sure I want to spend this much money but I do want to detail my car for a serious hobby and keep it that way. Most likely will be going to local shows and entering.
u can check the classfides and ket killer deals I have bought lots of stuff from it .I use products from about 10-15 different comp rember just becaus 1 place makes great soap does not mean they make good glass cleaner I have found that 1 comp does not make the best of everything. And yes I have some cg stuff. One of the most easy to use polishes I tried is optimum polish 2 you can get eaven get it in sample sizes for hardley any money From what I have exp with cg is and they do not mind telling u this if they do not make it it is junk and will bash any outher comp. I know what you're saying. I used to use mostly Meguiars products and nothing else but from what i've read and watched by other people who detail not just for a hobby and they use CG products they don't use many other companies. I guess these people find CG has everything they need and it does the job which is why I am drawn to the company. I have no experience with them but others have told me they stand by their product line. Some stuff like MF towels you can find else where for cheaper but overall they seem to only use and need CG. I figured since this is my first big purchase in a while I'd switch to them.
I am a novice when it comes to using a machine polisher and claybaring (two big steps) and I've only had to wax a few times so I'm not an expert but the process doesn't seem like it would be hard to learn if I just kept at it and took my time.
I know you are looking out for my best interest and I really appreciate it and it shows a lot of character. I guess since you have more overall experience that you know which products you prefer. I'm sure that someone else could come into the thread and say the products you suggested aren't what they prefer. Which makes this a very debatable thread. I figured it would happen.
My biggest thing is making sure that I have everything I'll need and also if someone doesn't like say Jetseal for example by CG and told me to get the Petes53 instead that's mainly what I was looking for. I do want to stick with CG and give their product line a shot because I've been happy with the results I've seen from others who use it.
Refined the list down some stuff that I felt was not needed at this time. Things if needed can be purchased later.
Brought the total down to 691 and some change with the help of the CG Gold Member Discount. I contacted CG and informed them of the purchase and they told me to use it for the 5% which I'm sure most of you are already aware of (I wasn't at the time).
