Ok, I do know how to detail. I have been doing it for years, but now I want to try some new products and I was thinking about this technique for a nighthawk black pearl Acura.



-wash

-clay

-wash

-menzerna IP

-menzerna FP or FPII

-RMG(first time trying)

-Natty's blue wax(first time trying

-FK1 425(first time trying



Now, my car has very, very little scratches and swirls...Oh, btw, I am using the PC for menzerna.

Thanks White for your response....yeah, I have some scratches, nothing major but I know I won't be able to get them out by hand.
 
Sometimes I do not find it necessary to wash again after claying, but rather wipe down with a mild QD. I guess it depends on how much claying is needed and how much residue is left as a result.
 
Try the FP before using the IP. Use the least agressive product to complete the job. If you use the FP correctly you probably wont' even need the RMG.



Another claying technique would be to wash, rinse, then using fresh suds and water do the claying process. Then rinse and dry. Its less expensive to use car was soap as a lube, and you can really keep the water flowing.



You could save some time by applying the RMG and the Nattys with the PC on 3. I usually apply both of those with the PC. It's easier for me to get a thin even coat, and it's speedier than doing it by hand. Take the Nattys out of the tub and put it in a piece of saran wrap. Then gently wipe it on the pad. Easy. :D
