ONR Wash... 31 Degrees and Sunny.....

I've never used ONR, but you may have persuaded me to try it.

I have a question. I noticed that Pontiac has Kumho tires on it. Were those original equipment or replacements?

Replacements. I bought them from Tire Rack. Excellent tires. Smooth, quiet and a treadwear rating of 420. I've been very pleased with them.:Car smiley:

My wife's Sonata has the Solus K16's. I'm going to move up to the Ecsta LX Platinum KU27 next spring.

The Solus in 17" have been a very nice ride, great traction and quiet. A nice tire for OE.

Bill... you're my new role model man!:notworthy::notworthy:

No more whining about it being too cold for me... I'm just gonna get out there and get to it.

Thanks for the motivation!:hurray:

The car looks GREAT by the way...

Haha! (There are much better role models than me!)

For me, it's 20-30 minutes of good excersize, outside in the fresh air. MUCH better than climbing on the boring treadmill in the winter! Great for the heart and lungs, and I do this several times a week with my car and my wifes... And it's fun.

Side note: When my neighbor says: "Don't you know it's going to rain?"

I always respond: "GOOD! That means I get to wash it again tomorrow!!!"

He hates that.

Bill, you've successfully removed all the excuses for those in the same conditions! Hot water in the bucket(s) + ONR = clean vehicle! That ONR stuff is amazing. I love it also.

Looks great, now go get it dirty again!!! (j/k).

It's not really HOT water, for fear of removing the sealant. I use warm water at a comfortable temp to keep my hands warm during the wash!

Ahhh gotcha, I was thinking that if you start out hot you end up with luke warm in the bucket by the end of the car in those temps. Great point in that you want to avoid "hot" water for fear of prematurely reducing the effectiveness of the LSP that's on the paint. Came out awesome looking though.

Thanks... love a clean car!

Nice little cleanup on the daily driver, Bill.

The one thing I try and do is put a lot of effort into getting the wheelwells clean an dressed each time I wash, if you let it go too long it becomes a real pain in the future.

Good advice Nick!!! After everything else was finished, I used the remaining ONR and my long handle brush and cleaned the wheel wells, then sprayed them with Tire Foam. They look nice and clean now!:iagree:

Do you recommend the two bucket method with grit guards w/ONR or is that overkill? The 2nd bucket just has water to rinse the wash mitt but not to rinse the car. Do you do the wheel wells last?

I usually use the 2BM, just to make sure the microfiber gets clean. Grit Guards yes.

Correct.

Do you do the wheel wells last?

Yes. The order is:

Top
Windows
Hood/Trunk
Front/Back/Sides
Wheels
Tires
Wheelwells

Instead of using warm water with my ONR, now I just use a boar's hair brush on the end of a pole. The boar's hair releases dirt very nicely in my rinse bucket. Have had not marring with this combo.

Nice job Bill!

You are truly one dedicated detailer:clap: The temp here in NJ is finally getting up to an acceptable level for me to go out and do an ONR wash on my DD.

Don't you love when the neighbors come out and say "it is only going to get dirty again"?

Bill

You win the "Dedicated to a clean car" award.

That ONR is some good stuff for sure.

I hate to say it but I did a wash and wax for my nieghbor yesterday and I was shorts.

Did ya ever notice.....

Year after year those suffering snow and cold deprivation take the opportunity to revel in their climate and taunt those of us enjoying freezing our cojones off. On the other hand you don't see thawing northerners yucking it up every time somebody's town is flattened by a hurricane.

You don't hear folks basking in the misfortune of others when wildfires sweep the Southwest nor do you hear snickering everytime California lurches in an attempt to make Nevada waterfront property. Every climate has it's cross to bear. But when it snows up to yer ears and it's cold enough to cause terminal "shrinkage" in the nether regions the southerners (who are mostly Yankee transplants anyway) kick up their heels with glee and rub it in. You don't hear us har-har-ing when the damning summer humidity is sapping your precious bodily fluids and copulating bugs are splattering your Souveran.

My only conclusion is freezing may be conducive to cultivating class and restraint. Either that or those brain cells that conjure up those types of thoughts may have been frozen into oblivion.
