Good old days, my fanny.
I was there for those "good old days". Turtle wax, almost impossible to remove Simoniz, tires that lasted less than 20,000 miles, cars that lasted less than 50,000 mile without major repairs, lousy heaters, no air conditioning, 20 mpg was amazing and 12 mpg wasn't uncommon.
These are the good days! :bigups :D

I was talking about last fall, meaning that was the last time I could bucket wash my car...god I remember those waxes, I still see people using them today, in the baking sun no less...I even see people apply the wax and then go for a drive before they remove it...

Also the good old days were walking to school five miles, even if the school was a mile away...and it was uphill in both directions.

Actually, I lived 1 block from high school. And drove to school. :redface:
It was about as far from the parking lot to the school door as it was from my house. :D
 
Charles if you vehicle is pretty dirty do you think their is a difference in how well it is cleaned between spraying it with S&W and wiping and using 4-1 with a bucket of water.

I know with 4-1 and water you have more of a mess on the floor but other than that can you see a difference.

Only in the seams, door jambs, window moldings that seem to need extra work with the S&W.
The 4 in 1 bucket method seems to get to those areas a little easier simply because of the extra water.
As far as appearance or marring, I don't think there would be any real difference.

Thanks Charles that is what I thought you would say.

As I have already stated I use a conventional wash if my vehicles are dirty but I'm lucky enough to have a nice warm place to wash.

Boy I have it made because my garage is air conditioned also and in the summer when I wax I turn the air on and I have a 52 inch ceiling fan Right over the car and I have to work to keep from being cold.:D

In the summer I use S&W at the car shows.
I have the car clean when I leave home but the flat back just sucks everything up from the road.

Since I don't have water S&W is the best option but I only use it on the rear and then use a QD on it.
IMO if I use the QD after the S&W it improves the gloss just a bit.

After using the S&W on the back I use the QD on the rest of the car so it only takes a few minutes more to QD the back.
