Onr + ocw + fk 425?

so i always wash with ONR (and now adding OCW to the mixture) and then dry using some FK 425. i thought, "hell, why don't i just combine all 3 when i wash?" i put about a shot of each in a bucket and added water. the car looked great and dried much smoother than normal. is this a good mixture or do you think any of the products are cancelling out each other and therefore it is counter-productive?

Not so sure I would mix wax in the washing process. I like to get everything clean before protecting..but if not too dirty then it's probably alright..

What next, OptiCoat mixed with ONR? I think adding stuff into ONR is a waste of product. QD while you dry, most bang for the buck, no surprises, no impact to ONR washing ability.

Scottwax made the ONR + OCW combo suggestion. i suspect the guy knows what he is talking about.

as for FK QD, you're spraying it on top of the ONR before you dry the ONR off the car, so you're mixing the two at some point in the process anyway, aren't you? just seems a lot easier to mix from the start.

Do what you like, I personally think (sorry Scott) that Doctor G is a better chemist than Scott and just about anyone else on this board. I'll use the products as he intended.

has he stated somewhere that ONR and OCW shouldn't be combined?

No, I don't think so, but he didn't state not to mix OptiCoat or any of the polishes in it either. That would be pretty sweet though, just mix everything in a bucket for a true one stepper!

I talked to Dr. G specifically about this and he said it sounded like a great idea and he was going to try it on his own vehicles.

I am sure he could make an all in one product that would combine the two but since 90% of the time, people are using ONR to wash and OCW to seal and polishing in between, it doesn't make sense to come up with a niche product that mixes the two.

So Scott, how much do you mix in there? Isn't it just as easy to wash and then spray a little OCW on the paint or towel before drying?

I add an ounce or so, really don't measure it exactly. Just adding it vs spraying means I wash as normal, no extra steps at all.
