Autopia fire/rescue.
Today's detail was a black Audi S4 Cabrio owned by the wife of on of our retired firefighters.
It's a 2005, was a little grungy on the outside due to being driven in the rain, the inside was pretty clean, other than some ingrained stuff on the light gray leather....
I worked the night tour at the firehouse and had a late run (reported house fire, turned out to be water vapor from a dryer vent), so I left the firehouse a little later than usual and picked up the car. It was stil cloudy, so I did the interior and washed and clayed the car...
The sun came out, and the thing was hologram city.
I pulled into the garage and buff3d with with Megs #83 via rotary on a 3m Foam cutting pad, followed by #83 via PC with a cutting pad, follwed by Megs #80 speed glaze, then Megs#9 via PC.
Cleaned up the windows inside and out, then started the car to raise the top to get the area where the roof meets the windscreen...
The power top stops working at the halfway position, and the check engine light comes on... :grrr :grrr
I called the owner, who informed me that she forgot she had a doctors appointment at 4:00.... :grrr
I can't get the top down, my Jeep is at her workplace and it's 3:15, so I jump into the Mustang, pick her up and drop her off at the Doc's, rush back to the house to figure out how I am going to get the top back down...
Pulled out the owner's manual and found that there is a manual key that can be used.
I got the roof down.
While she is at the Docs, she calls the Audi dealer ( the car is still under warranty) to let them know what happaned.
She calls me back and asks how the car is running. It was fine. She calls the dealer who tells her to get it in so they can read the trouble codes...
She calls me back to let me know what they said, I drive the car to where she works, picked up my Jeep and drove home to feed the dogs and then it was back to the firehouse for my 2nd night tour... 2 runs already and my arse is dragging....!
PS: no pics... my battery in the camera was kaput! :grrr
