One embarrassing moment

California Highway Patrol had (may still have) those. They were still just stock Z28's with the performance axle and in some cases manual transmissions.

NOt so bad.....................my brother in law and his partner have the same exact car a MB black CLK CONVERTIBLE when my brother in law went for breakfast at his parters house last week he parked in the drivway. His partner Mike has weekly detailers that do all his cars(every sunday morning early) Detailed my brother in law car by mistake.YES they did the wrong car!! My brother in law being the cheap person that he is gave them a $5 tip but his partner said to put it on his bill...................

I think the amount HP is off topic, but since some are curious, the cop that came to open it told me a little about the cars history. I didn't engage in much conversation about it as my mind was focused on getting the door open.

Rule #1 for Superior Shine- never ever leave the keys in the car!

It has worked out perfect for the last 14 years.

Ever since I went home with a customer's keys one day, I now leave the keys on top of the driver's side front tire. They never, ever go in my pockets.

As for the key thing and cop cars, I always carried a spare key on my gun belt. The doors lock/unlock by pressing a button. When exiting the vehicle for a foot pursuit, hit the lock button. When you come back with your suspect, your car will still be there, and you have a spare key. The inside will still be cool/warm because the AC/heater has been running.

Scottwax,

Excellent idea for the key to go on the tire.

A stock cop car has nowhere near 400 hp. LouisianaJeeper's specs are probably right on. Cops catch suspects not because they have fast cars, but because they have really fast RADIOS. Training plays a key role, too.

they also have the white ones with corvette engines in them

Ya don't all the Z28 have LS1's in them? They are all just tuned down, so they don't make 400 horsepower. I would like to see a new Camaro come out with a LS2!:D Staight out 400 horsepower, and then mods on top of that!
