any constructive criticism?

the difference is not subtle. I think you did a nice job.

I can tell a few of those swirls didn't go away completely--maybe next time an additional pass with the IP would get those. I wonder if FP might bring a little more gloss to out too.

I can't really think of anything else to criticize... I guess I like a slicker tire gel, but thats just nitpicking.

Good job!

did you do any swirl removal? (not a bash I just can't tell)

I would love to see full sun shots(before & after)

it looks like you cleaned it nice

but it looks more like a wash & wax than a detail

are you using a pc?

I used a pc. Yea, i was disapointed in my job on the trunk. The person wanted it done QUICK or atleast quick for me. So i couldnt go back and do it again. And for the tire gel, Im not into the really shiny glossy tire gel because it doesnt last more then a few days-that may just be me and my inexperiance.

Heh, that is true re: tire gel. I'm kind of OCD though and keep an aerosol in my trunk for occasional refreshes (along with microfiber towels, stoners glass and mothers instant detailer :help: )

I call B.S.

I bet the whole car looks like that!

(shown me a picture of the hood in full sun and prove me wrong)

I think you just dont like the picture you took of the trunk that shown the swirls

I know I sound like an azz but I am just calling them as I see them

ya you do, givem a break he's just a kid.:LOLOL

Nice cleanup, Never forget while using your pc to work a very concentrated area at a time (1.5x1.5 or 2x2 ft.) for a good five minutes to start, or until the polish is very dry, this is very important when first starting polishing. Don't forget to use a lot of pressure 15-20 lbs constantly with the initial buff. you will see exactly how hard it actually is to remove those swirl marks, and you will be able to duplicate that little section over the entire car.

Yes, you do. If you have nothing constructive to offer, please refrain from posting in this thread again.

Alright well my constructive criticism would be to dress the fenderwells, find yourself a nice low gloss tire dressing (303 maybe or CG natural shine) and make sure you work the polish until the abrasives are broken down.

Since you are a beginner, please go and watch the polishing videos on autogeek.net, they are not perfect but you will get better results than what you do now. The key is to use a small amount of polish and work it for a long time. Polishing a trunk (just the top) of an average size for example should take you 20 minutes with a PC.

oooo ok... yea i think i get what your saying, and i dont thnk i was doing it right. well i know now though! thanks guys you helped me out big time! i was wondering why they werent tcoming out like some of ya'lls

Much improved. That car was pretty hammered in the before shots. I understand time constraints, sucks when people give you a time limit when you know you need more.

Yea i told the guy, "ile try to get it done in those time constraints but, next time i really do need to have an hour or two more.

Hate to bring back a dead thread but did you watch those videos? It really looks like (in the pics) the reason there are still swirls on the trunk and also why the car is not that glossy is because the polish was not broken down. When in doubt, work in a smaller area than you think you need to, and work the polish until you think you are doing it for way too long.
