:bow absolutely stunning!! id never leave that garage lol, and ya id like to see the completed pics as well.

And I thought I was anal......one word, WOW.

Why would your wife threaten you with divorce? Afterall, your increasing the value of HER and your home correct? Or if you have a prenup and you get the house in case a divorce does happen, then she's just jealous of the time your spending away from her.

Remember, you wear the pants, not her!

Unless you're an Autopian or other car nut, the 5 car garage maybe more of a negative than a positive. I doubt he will see an increase in real estate value any where close to the amount of $ me put into this. The water feature may help. Some people don't like those. The landscaping will definiately help. But the garage. With the stone work, I think it's going to look nicer than the house. From looking at his home page, I think this guy is in the business of designing and constructing these type of garages. So, it's a marketing tool for him. Maybe he's able to write this off on taxes?!?! :bounce

I'm with DavidB on this. Why did they use the old garage? The shingles were bad, etc. I would have torn it down in a second, and built the new one where I wanted it, and how I wanted it. Start with the jack and go from there. Of course, I don't even own a garage, so I'll be quiet now.

I heard from friends that it was easier to add an addtion to an exsisting structure than tearing it down and rebuliding. easier as in dealing with all the red tape that goes along with this.

In the Ultimate Garage's instance I don't know, but the it is well planned out and meant to be a showcase for all his products. And even though cost doesn't seem to be a problem I am sure tearing down the building would have eliminated some of the extra's like the waterfall.

Welcome Ultgar! :wavey If you like your cars and well-equipped garages, this is terrific site. :D

This forum looks like my kind of place. Glad there are other garage enthusiasts out there like myself. The house doesn't look like the garage, at least not the outside. They started the second waterfall today, this one flowing into a fishpond. More a peace offering to my wife as she can see it out her kitchen window. Lighting will be the next big expense after landscaping. Still have to put in the security system/cameras, wheel mounting & balancing equipment, cabinetry and get the Dynapack out of storage.

The site will go back up in a week or so. And, since a large part of my business is designing garages and workshops for car collectors across the country, this project is a showcase of what I can provide for my clients. Other companies (Garage Fanatics, Ultimate Garage Company, etc) have decided to get into the garage design/consulting business as well. I wanted to differentiate myself from these competitors by taking things to the extreme. Lets see if they can keep up. SD

Welcome to the forum, glad to "meet" you, I am a garage guy to the bone! There is a few pics in the gallery of mine, I know it isnt anything compared to yours and some of the ones you have built but I love it! I have been watching your build up for a while now, I am verry impressed!

What a true pleasure to have your input on this site. I am anxiously awiating the update.:bow :bow

ultgar, I have been trying to keep up with the garage bulidup, It looks great!

One thing, Could you put an index of your pages on your website? I keep having to got through pages 1-9 to see what the latest is... It would be a ton easier to be able to click on page 9 or 10 and go right to it insted of going through the first 9 pages:)

I occasionally do tech sessions for groups at my place to discuss the basics of setting up a garage workshop. I'd be happy to host one for the Autotopia group in the spring of next year for those willing to travel to northern NJ. SD

After seeing those pics, I'll attend any tech session you offer!! Keep us informed.

it's a sweet garage. I think it'd be cool to move out of the house, and make the entire house your office, and the garage be the showroom.
