Ok, just ordered a PC...please, advice needed!

Hey guys. I just ordered a PC Package from Autopia...the one thats on sale right now for $149.00....it will be the first machine polisher I ever used.



But, the problem is, im reading so much about all the different types of pads that are needed...and i dont know if this kit/package that I ordered is going to be sufficient.



I detail cars as a side job, and with summer approaching, I want to make sure that I have the correct type and amount of pads.. So please, if anyone can give me some guidance with this, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Well pads are a bit tough on deciding but my recomendation is to get a Propel Pads Kit from Exceldetail.com (currently Out of Stock :() or the Edge 2000 System. For you, the Sonus pads may not be the best due to the pad grades (only three pad types rather than the typical 4-5).

If you're detailing professionally, you need more than a PC7424. That just doesn't have the oomph to make money for you. It's fine for an occasional tight spot where a larger rotary won't fit (but a smaller pad on a rotary would probably work too) but it is manifestly unsuitable for large jobs where time is money.



You need something like a DeWalt DW847. Instead of spending an hour+ on just the hood or roof of a problem car, you'll spend five minutes and have a better job to show for it.

This isnt necessarily true - There are many members including myself who use the PC exclusively with great results...it may take more time, but there is no sense in taking a rotary to a vehicle which doesnt need it. The original post asked about pads...as I would reccomend LC pads from Danase, I have never had a problem with these pads, http://danase.com/6foflpabylac.html

There are tons of professional detailers that make money using the PC.
