It can finish down great, but you won't get the same gloss that you do with Menzerna. A lot of it is technique.

Got Leather & buffer barry- Heh heh, I *knew* somebody'd bring up Ardex :D I didn't do it myself as I've never used the stuff.... Yeah, people who think M105 is sooo aggressive just haven't tried anything that *really* is.

It oughta finish out as well as M205 can finish out. IME using a really soft pad doesn't change the final result; using a merely soft-enough pad works just as well.

I bet you'll be *very* happy with that combo.

Now Barry... Don't go changing everything up... Wool pads?? Really who uses those anymore.. Everything should be done with a whole slew of foam pads and the little D/A. ..... Wool and an actual rotary???? Are you from the 90's or something? HAHAHAHA!

So guys can anyone recommend me something else besides the 3m that finishes down a little better with less time involved??

OK, this time *I* will be the guy to suggest Ardex, not that I've ever tried it...the more aggressive Presta stuff comes to mind too, if only because my local autobody/paint supply place has it on the shelf.

But I'd expect *any* such aggressive compound to require two follow up steps, and I'd also expect a dust-storm.

David, a few questions.

I don't go past 1500.

Would your method still work? I'm assuming since the m105 worked so well, almost flawless for the 3000 sand marks, it should still do well for the 1500.

But with a different pad, what do you think?
