oh my nerves

Ok until now I have done a lot of normal cars with normal owners, until today when the President of my company saw my rotary sitting at my work bench and asked about it. I told him I do auto detailing on the side. He asked how much to do his 4 vehicles ( I only know about his Navigator and Lincoln LSE, not sure the other 2) Gave him a price quote and the job(s) are mine. I think he has someone else detailing them right now and well I am glad they can't put a tire dressing on without it looking like crap (blotchy, uneven). This is a big account from a guy that is VERY meticulous and has a keen eye for attention to detail...I am so nervous about this because he has a lot of wealthy friends, and he likes to talk, alot. Anybody got some advice on how to calm down and relax before Sat.? and no smoking anything but cigs. is not an option :D

Did anybody else get this nervous before detailing for a high end client?

mate, once you get underway, it will all become automatic and there will be no nerves.....

you'll be fine! :) :xyxthumbs

If it will help you might want to use a check list. That way you can do a detailed inspection when you are done to be sure you didn't miss a speck of dirt someplace.

Good luck and relax. What 6cyl's_of_fury said is true.

Just relax and remember that beneath that badge, it's still just paint on metal. Treat it carefully and eventually you'll understand that whether its a Yugo or a Bentley, as long as you work on it with care and know your skill limits, they'll end up to your standards :) Good luck.

My secret...

...treat 'em like your own'...

never met a client more anal than I am, lol...

This is something that I always follow. :up

take a big ol swig of bourbon before

Maybe not a good idea before grabbing the rotary :D

I just finished printing up a checklist :up

Thanbks everyone for the help and support, I appreciate it.

When I got my first high end client, I thought it was a joke someone was playing on me. I got a call to detail a Rolls Royce and a Mercedes which at the time were extremely high end for me. I had done a few E Class Mercedes and 3/5 series BMWs but mostly sedans and SUVs. I went over anyway and instead of worrying, I could hardly wait to get started for some reason.

Sent you one back Langman.

just sit back, relax, and remember if you screw up your not getting paid for the detail and you will be fired from your real job too.

I was looking for a little more uplifting support than this :D

Actually it made me laugh, thank you.

Look at it this way, the worst autopian detail HAS to be better than the blotchy, uneven detail he was getting before! You could probably only do a half butt autopian job and still be fine. If you do a full autopian detail on all 4 vehicles, im sure the guy will be elated. Just go with it, if he is really that meticulous, im surprised he isn't an autopian already, lol. Good luck scott! BTW, what the heck are you doing cruzing autopia at 2 AM?

Ok It went good today he was happy and said his "baby" (navigator) was cherry. Doing the LSE this coming Sat., then the cadillac Sun. then a mystery car the following sun.

Thanks for the support guys, I appreciate it.

I dont get off work until 1 am from my normal job. Im a night owl, always have been since I can remember.

excursion I can handle...I really dont want any hummers to detail...they are such monsters.

LOL, I think if someone called me with a Hummer I probably wouldn't do it... Probably wouldn't even touch an H2 either because they're ugly...

Guess I'd just have to give them Sonny Daze's number like I do with people that call for boat details :D

Hopefully he'll come through this thread... lol....
