Oddball question: dry detailing?

Hi,



This is a strange question, but the people here know detailing like nobody's business, so I can't think of a better place to ask.



I have a pair of Wilson Audio Sophia speakers. These speakers have automotive finish on them. I'd like to clean them and put on Zaino or a more appropriate equivalent.



Problem is, I obviously can't toss water onto these speakers. Is there a way to clean them without water? The only "dirt" on them are fingerprints and hand grease/moisture/whatever you choose to call it. After the cleaning, I'd like to zaino the speakers.



Any advice or suggestion? Thanks very, very much in advance! Looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
 
quick detail will work great on dust or just get a damp microfiber and clean em up! then polish away and throw on your zaino and your set
 
Since they presumably haven't had any outside exposure, probably a good Z6 wipedown with a soft MF, and put your Zaino polish on. Probably just doing Z6 wipedowns would be fine without any polish (Zaino refers to their sealants as polishes). If you really need to do any slight surface conditioning/cleaning, you could use Z-AIO. Of course, there are plenty of other non-Zaino products that would be fine, as well.
 
A quick detailer would work great in this case. Another option (one that I would use) is ONR. You can search around, but basically Optimum No Rinse is a product that is diluted with water and functions as a rinseless wash. You just use a microfiber towel/mitt and apply the solution of ONR to the surface and you just dry off with another MF or a waffle-weave towel. You don't have to use a lot of solution, so you won't have to worry about any water running down into the speakers.
