Ocw?

I have read quite a few people saying they use "OCW" to help remove and shine up their UPP....what is OCW? :nixweiss (I am placing an order for some UPP tommorrow and wanted to know if I should get this too...and what it is by which manufacturer)

EDIT*** I searched again and found it to mean Optimum Car Wax...but this time it seemed some people had some negative experiences with it...is it truly helpful to apply over the UPP or will my P21S work just as well?

I use OCW as a quick booster after washes...but I don't think that I'd use it immediatly following UPP. Get a good base of UPP on the car and after a couple of weeks start using OCW as a booster post-wash and it will improve longevity of UPP or anything underneith for that matter.

I've had 0 problems with streaking ect that others have had...I got mine right when it came out though...not sure if that makes any difference.

Zero problems with Optimum wax here also. I dont use it as a QD or booster though. I have been very happy with it as a sealant. Its easier to use then some QD's!

Count me in with Pat and AudiOn19s on liking the OCW.:up No complaints from me. I've never had a problem applying it over sealants, although never tried it over UPP.

It applies like a QD but is like a spray wax on steroids. It will definitely outlast any regular spray wax and is a great carnauba topper extender.

Great product. Simply the easiest wax to apply that I have ever used, and I have used a lot of waxes. Durability seems really good also. Produces an excellent shine. I believe OCW is a revolutionary product in the detailing industry. Just my opinion though.

I concur:p , I just recently used this product and it left a nice shine and slick surface. Don't know why people have application and removal problems:nixweiss . I used sparingly and had zero issues. Great product:xyxthumbs

Treat it as you would if you put klasse SG into a spray bottle. It holds up for at least a few weeks in my hands. I dont know it's true durability, or the durability of any product for that matter, because i'm always applying stuff.

It definitely does feel like you're doing more than just qd'ing. the paint is noticeably slick after a few applications.

Very well said. I feel no need to add anything!:D

I have been using OCW now for some time and when I first started talking about it people, on this and other forums (heck even my customers) thought I was either misinformed or smoking crack:eek:

People feel that a wax, one that's worth a darn, must be applied the old fashioned way. Rub it in and then buff off the haze after it dries. The go back and clean up the white residue it leaves behind and then also deal with the dust it may have generated. OCW will not dust up or leave a white residue, has the same UV absorbers in it that are in your clear coat and it takes only minutes to wax a car and also last longer than a paste wax.

OCW is not just a spray wax but a polymer/wax forumulation. I believe in the area of concentration the polymer is of more percentage than the carnauba wax.

I personally have not had an issue with OCW on top of a sealant. I use OCW now mainly as a stand alone product for details and then I use it on all of my weekly washes.

I usually use OCD to remove my paste wax, and then follow up with layers of it on a paste base. It leaves great, clear reflections, but it has more of a "sealant" look than I like. I'm all about the wetness/distortion, rather than the clear, bright reflections OCW produces. If you are a sealant kind of guy, you will probably love it.

I totally agree and buy OCW by the gallon. Granted, I still have and use other sealers & waxes, but OCW protects well and looks good, especially after a few coats. I find myself reaching for it often.

I'm a big fan of their polish too.
