Occupations

I was reading the recent posts and something just popped into my head. Some will get it if they watched the program this comes from.

"I sell propane and propane accessories".

There has to be one here that will get that reference. I miss that show.

Got a heck of a variety of occupations here. It's ways interesting to me how so many different people can share a common interest

The work to support my family - Telecom Management for almost 40 years, Military for 6 years..
The work to support my habit but could never support my family - Detailing, all my life.. :)

House of Wax - we had similar work, I worked with all the CO's at all the Telco's across the nation - I had the Fiber side of Nortel OC-48-192 equipment on SONET rings, dual entrance facilities, huge Liebert Battery Strings, the biggest diesel generators I have ever seen, and tons more equipment and back up, for this little Wireless company called AirTouch Cellular in California, that eventually grew into the mammoth Verizon Wireless company.
Had to absolutely insure that the 15k+ employees at the 2 Campus's I built were always ON, and nothing ever prevented our subscribers, and us from communicating 24 x 7, 365 days/year..
And yeah, we built it so well, it has never gone down and probably never will.. :)

I work in a R&D group for a subsidiary of a multi-national company based in Japan who makes a lot of different things including IT equipment.

I was a longshoreman, working as a Marine Clerk the last half of my career in the industry.

Marine Clerk -
I have family in H/B and just love it there ! They will never leave and come back up to Northern California either.. :) Dont blame them..

First time I ever went to Chip Foose's Shop in H/Beach was an incredible moment in time..

Love everything about this little place by the Pacific - wish I could afford to live there... :)

I like to just say I am a Trashman, in reality My brother and I own our own small trash company. I run the day to day opertions so some days I sit in my office and manage but most days I am either in my truck running around dealing with problems or down in the shop helping our mechanic or welding something. I hate managing people but it pays well and its what i have to do for now.
