NXT + S100 question

My friend and I are going to be detailing her car ('96 Mustang GT Coupe) tomorrow and I've got a few questions. I plan on using S100 over NXT and I'm just wondering how soon can I put the S100 over the NXT. I've read people say that NXT should sit for ~12 hours before topping it with S100. We don't exactly have that much time to be waiting around.

Anyways, right now it looks like we'll clay bar the car, NXT, then S100. I'm wondering if I should apply some #7 before the NXT also... I would use #9 too, but I'm completely out of it and no one carries it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW, I guess I'll introduce myself. My name is Steve (doh!) and I drive an '03 True Blue Mustang GT 5spd Coupe. :xyxthumbs

First off.... :welcome

There are various discussions on the proper cure time for products such as these, but the real issue is how much time do you have. Don't have the facility or time to store the car while you wait? No worries. Just throw the S100 after you buff the NXT off. You don't have to worry about an adverse reaction with the products you have chosen so far, Just go ahead and top it!

Somebody will get it moved to AU for ya, no biggie.

NXT has mild cleaners in it that *might* lift the oils/fillers in the #7 but its sure worth a try in the program.

I applied S100 immedietly over NXt and had no difficulty's with that combo.

Welcome!

Without seeing your paint, it is hard to say what you should use prior to NXT but I agree with the others, if time is important you can put S100 right over NXT. Ideally though, wait 12-24 hours.

Well the results are in. This is a copy and paste of my post on my local forum:

Well Kristen came over today so we could clean the car. After a good wash I used a clay bar and went over the entire car. I smoothed the paint as much as I could and got as much tar and road grime off of the car as I could. It was rather difficult because I'm sure some of the stuff has been on there for a long time. The paint - specifically the roof, trunk lid, and rear bumper - had sun damage, which is expected from a car of it's age (1996) that is not garaged.

After doing all I could with the clay bar I applied a coat of Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze. Some #9 swirl remover would probably have been more beneficial and would have helped remove some of the fine swirls and scratches a bit more.

Following the #7 came a coat of the new Meguiars NXT Tech Wax, which I thought worked very well. To top it all off was a layer of S100 Paste Wax which really finished things off well. I think that it came out very well considering the conditions the car has been exposed to over the course of it's lifetime. Here are the pics:

In a few pics it looks like the door is not aligned with the body. The drivers door was just cracked open.
