NXT over GC???

I have been thinking NXT over Gold Class. Would this work or would I be better off going with a couple of layers of NXT. What do you guys think. Or what else would look good in between polish and NXT, if anything?

I wouldn't put NXT over any wax. If you want, try topping NXT with GC, just not the other way around.

I did it, and I think it looks great. Remember that GC isn't a wax, it's a wax/poly/resin blend. I'm sure that the NXT softens the GC and removes some of it, but whatever GC is left gives the NXT a darker, deeper look. It's a nuance, but if you're doing goofy combinations of toppers (like I have done) you're looking for nuances anyhow, so go ahead and try it and see if you agree with me.

Tom, i just read some of your previous posts and i was wonderin... Did you get better results with the NXT/GC/NXT combo or the GC/NXT combo?

Daniel, I don't usually strip the wax before applying something else. My belief is that stuff like that doesn't layer, so that anything under more than two coats is gone. I guess it might still be there, but at that point I think it's like the 4th or 5th decimal place in importance.

Or, in other words, they're the same.

Hi there!

I just tried this blend on a small section of my Vette - and found it to work out fairly well. All Mequiar's - 1. Deep Crystal Cleaner. 2. Deep Crystal Polish. 3. #26 Yellow Wax. 4. NXT. Any other suggestions - before I complete the rest of the car? I'm a bit new at this - and have had sooooo many great suggestions. It's been tough to decide.
