NXT or S100

Ive been using S100 with excellent results.. Goes on easy, buffs off easy and has a great clear shine. For those that tried NXT and S100 are they similar in application and shine?? I need some more S100 and was going to try the NXT but if they are the same Im gonna stick with s100

Thanks

I'd say application is almost equal in term of ease of use. But with NXT, you should let it dry for at least 15-20 minutes. With S100/P21s, I just wax on and wipe off.

I like S100 for lighter colored cars and NXT for darker colors. NXT seems to give me darker finish on my Jet Black 745Li.

I've used both too and S100 is easier to apply by hand than NXT. I'm not saying NXT is difficult but its not the same.

We all know S100 won't stain trim but I think the jury is still out on NXT.

NXT alters the color of cars a bit (darkens them). Seems to work really well on solid color cars but somwhat obscures the metallic look on metallic paint.

Durability between the two seems about the same based on what I've read here.

For $15 you might want to snag a bottle of NXT and do a comparo. You might like the look.

I actually found more metallic pop on my car with NXT than S100.

The shine however is pretty different. NXT creates a lot of depth whereas S100 seems to be more reflective. NXT is much better at hiding swirls.

I may try topping NXT with S100...

I made the same observation

I found NXT really brought the metalic out, and made the paint look like you could just dip your hand in it, great depth.

A friend of mine said it looked like I had a Gel applied to the car :shocked

NXT also deepend up my Blue which I like also, and did a nice job at REMOVING, not hiding, the very minor haze left by the DACP that proceeded it.

If you are thinking of choosing between S100 and NXT, then you are considering a synthetic instead of a carnauba. That being the case, there are lots of options you might want to consider as well as NXT. I realize NXT is the latest bandwagon to be on. But before the release of this revolutionary new sealant, there were many other synthetics on the market that were not only as debated but have proven themselves in the test of endurance among critical enthusiasts. Why not also consider those that have set the bar upon its current pegs. Klasse, Zaino, MPPP, #20, UPP and others are field tested. If you have aready tried all of these and only have one test subject, then NXT would certainly be great to try. If youre not testing for the sake of it, the others may be viable choices since they are already proven products. However grand and magnificent this new NXT is, Im not totally convinced that it has completely dethroned the reigning kings just yet. Just food for thought.

Was that advice or a message? Im confused. ;)

He'll never know if he likes it unless he tries it. I think its as good a place to start in the synthetic line as any based in the fact that its more user friendly than options like Zaino or Klasse, also has more of a carnuaba look.

Might want to look into Poorboys EX too, has more of a carnuaba look with synthetic durability.

Thanks for the replys!! Ive tried Zaino, Klasse, Blackfire, Poorboys, etc....I love the look and ease of use of S100..not to mention the price! I am going to get some NXT and try it and add it to my collection of wax/sealants..An Advanced Auto just opened here so Im gonna check it out and see if they have it..

Good points, but by now, he can probably walk into most autoparts stores and grab NXT off the shelf. He'd have to order the rest. Sometimes instant gratification plays a big roll in the products we buy.

My thoughts exactly.

Also just want to say, you will notice better relflections with S100 and a 'wetter' look with NXT.

Just out of curiosity what makes NXT more user friendly than SG? If you use the BillNorth method, SG couldn't be easier to apply.

I agree. My one problem with NXT is that it isn't that easy to use. Maybe the cooler than normal weather plays a role, I don't know yet because spring is taking its own sweet time getting here:angry

With SG and the BN method, one trip around the car. Same with S100. With NXT, two trips around the car with a 10-15 minute wait in between. Not that it is difficult to use, but compared to S100.....;)

I've never tried the Bill North method, what I really meant was that theres greater flexibility in what you can apply it on top of compared with SG rather than the application/removal aspect. Its more "error proof" this is true of all the "hybrid" type of sealants.

Can you apply NXT overtop of Zaino, and then continue to use NXT? I love the look of synthetics, but hate the way they bring out the flaws in my paint. If NXT will mask the flaws, then I'll be sold.
