Finally had to try NXT on this unique color. Paint had no prep whatsoever and NXT was applied with a PC on 4.

Weather was cloudy and yucky but you can still see some nice reflections.

am I missing something about the unique color?!?!

Yes, I believe that's the extremely rare "Deep Purple Metallic", only available in the last two years - 95 and 96.

Ah, cool then. Looked black to me but I can see the purple now.

You'll have to forgive me, I've been sick all day so I'm not on my game ;)

Pats300zx,

That looks Sweet! :xyxthumbs

I too have had great results using NXT with no prep at all. If you get a chance post more pics of this Z in the sun to show more of the Cool color.

Cheers,

I'm just in the process of bringing my black 300ZXTT out of winter storage right now.. and I'm torn on whether to try a coat of NXT on it without prep, or wait until I have a weekend when I can treat it with DACP or SFP and #81 before NXT.

Dilemmas... :bounce

I was the same way with putting it on my F150. I plan on doing clay, DACP, SFP, and Klasse or NXT, S100.

I figured I would get something on now since my truck really had nothing on it since December. The winter was killer here.

Can't wait to see the results of the full detail though.

Jason-you can probably skip #81 with NXT. I feel that the mild chemical/abrasive cleaners will remove most of the oils #81 lays down.

Make sure you post pics when you get your Z detailed.
