NXT Durability Test (Pics) Final Debate

So the question is...... what is the test to confirm that paint work is still being protected other than beading ?

I was told after washing the car and making sure its dry. Take a MF towel and throw it across the hood. If its still protected it should glide accross relatively easy. That the hard part what is realatively easy. By the looks of this picture it about time to rewax, but there still is protection. BTW was that car garaged or outside 24/7.

Not too scientific there... :)

NXT has some good stuff going for it.

It is easy to buy

Easy to apply

Has very good looks/although perhaps short term

Offers very good protection according to Megs

Its down side is that it needs to be re-applied every 3 months.

It stains trim.

Its the staining the trim that errked me the most,...durability? Whats that anyways?

Pretty good recap :xyxthumbs

yes, its garaged. but it has been 2 months. I thought that was pretty good for the wax dont you think? Being that is going to get a coap of upp here in about 1 month im not too worried about it.

I've had pretty good results with NXT's durability and QEW washes. Personally, I like to see both beading and feeling slickness via the towels to let me know something is still there.

I'm also pleased with NXT's durability and great looks. Here is my Lexus beading after 62 days. This is rain water on unwashed paint.

I analyze the look, and feel of the surface along with beading to indicate the presence of protection. I also use the "squeak test" where after washing I fold up a cotton towel and press it firmly against the paint and twist it. If it squeaks, the protection is gone.

Since these photos were taken I've also begun to use NXT Booster Spary after every other wash on my vehicles and this maintains that "just detailed" look for several months. It takes me about 20 minutes to refresh this product this way so I really like the simplicity, ease of use and outstanding wet looking gloss.

It's a system I've become fond of and use frequently. Just like other systems you may have, if you find that it works for you, use it and enjoy it. I spend a lot less time worrying about what everyone else uses these days because my details look great.

i like the look of beading, however i perfer products that sheet water. One time i detailed my TA with VM/EXP/CMW and it sheeted water for well over 5 months and never beaded water. I dunno why but it felt slick and looked good for about 4 months and that was during the rainy/cold season in texas.
