I can understand a glaze, for filling hairlines, but carnauba toppers, sorry folks, I just dont buy into it.....I dont mean to start any flames here, im just stating my own opinion folks....

Mike Pennington (at Meguiars) and I had this discussion too. Carnauba toppers can make a noticable improvement in depth. Try it on a panel over the sealant of your choice and then look at the panel next to it. You will see a difference. You may like it, you may not. :nixweiss
 
It may be worth evaluating one more time Scott.....Ive done it in the past with S100....

I dont remember the last time I used S100 now......

I have #16 that Tom worked out a deal with me on...

Its unopened....
 
I've used NXT before and it came out pretty good.



next time around i put #26 liquid on top of the NXT and it looked better. a little deeper IMO.
 
I too see no point in topping a sealant. What could a carnuba do to Z2 pro of FMJ to make it look any better? Sealants and carnuba's have different looks its all what you prefer. I prefer the crisp just out of the show room look.
 
Its what you prefer. Carnuba will not make the sealant last any longer ,just gives it a different look. I would just use NXT, but that what I prefer.

You either put both onto the car and see how it holds up, and come back and say it does and it becomes the next thing to do, or it doesn't work and you're left with a surface that's no more protected than it is now after a few weeks.

I have tried several combinations of sealants and I have had very good observable results. Since its raining a lot here lately, I just used a QD to clean up an application of Z2Pro over NXT, its only a month old, but no change in appearance so far. I am no purist concerning product use, I am seeking the ultimate in what works though, and after prep is done, it is all experimental (on my daily driver) for the fun of the hobby :) Oh, the NXT was OVER BF.... Maybe it wont last 6 months, but I dont leave anything alone that long anyway !

Problem is I still have a 3/4 full bottle of NXT & a full bottle of Booster Wax. I'm having a hard time figuring out what else I can wax besides my cars & the big screen TV.:D
 
I use NXT (x2) and follow up with the booster after every other wash and I'm very happy with the look. If you want a deeper, wetter look apply #81 or #7 prior to the NXT.

I did too, at first, but then I acquired a technique that works for me. I can do a car in 20 minutes and a SUV in 30 minutes using a foam applicator. I find it quick and easy, hardly much more effort than a QD.



The Booster must be applied very thinly and not sprayed directly on to the paint. The paint must also be cool. I wash in the shade so the vehicles are always cool before application. I apply to the whole vehicle then immediately remove with quality MF's. There is no waiting for the product to set-up like the NXT Tech Wax requires.



I find that regular use seals in the oils of the polish I use (#81) very well and the wet look lasts for months. I apply after every other wash, usually every two weeks. My vehicles always look like they were just detailed with this maintenance regimen.
