NXT/#16 vs. BFWD

my navy blue metallic camaro and monaco blue bmw are very similar colors as far as the tone is concerned. the camaro (i don't own anymore) was 10 years old and with NXT and #16 not only looked very rich and deep, had a lot of longevity (or so it seemed). i would use some FK55 after every wash so maybe that preserved the smoothness and beading when water hit it, but i loved that combo.

the bmw now has not seen a full PC clean yet, but i applied some BFWD by hand a couple of months ago and it doesn't seem to have lasted very long at all. not to mention the shine isn't nearly as deep as what i got out of the camaro. and it is a 2007 year model, so 7 years newer! maybe the problem is it needs to be applied with a PC, and maybe those 2 colors just are not as similar as they appear to be, and the camaro was able to get a richer shine which has nothing to do with the products at all.

i'm getting my own garage in a month and will be PC'ing the bimmer and removing the swirls then applying either the NXT/#16 or the BFWD. i just can't decide which. everyone here seems to think the BFWD is unbeatable in a lot of categories. maybe you guys can teach me something with this post :) here is a pic of my Z with the NXT/#16 combo, probably 3-4 months after it was detailed (pic is a couple of years old though):

I have used both products on light and dark colored cars. I personally do not like the Megs. The BFWD is a very good product, especially for use on dark colored cars. My new go to product for protection is the Autoglym SRP (Super Resin Polish) and Autoglym EGP (Extra Gloss Protection). I particularly love the ease of use, durability and looks of this combination of products. Maybe something to consider.

While not a huge fan of Meg's LSPs, its hard to deny the initial hit that NXT provides. #16 also packs a heavy punch at first. The difference between those two and BFWD is that the latter keeps delivering on those looks, wash after wash for 2-3 months. BFWD also needs to go on perfectly prepped paint unlike the Megs products. Before you dismiss it, make sure you do a true apples to apples comarison.
