Hola. Long day of haggling with car dealers, thought I'd post some pics to help unwind.

First up, a 2003 spa yellow Acura NSX. Condition was moderate swirling and heavy road tar, otherwise nothing really major. The owner uses it as a daily driver.

Wash with Z7

Clay

Hood got EC/OP @1500

Rest of the car got Heavy Cut @ 1500

Whole car 106ff @1300

Acrylic Jett

Next up was his co-workers Nissan 350Z, intergalagos fire red? I dunno, a cool color though! The car was pretty rough, fairly deep swirls left after a botched dealer compounding (holograms readily apparent), some deep scratches and some really deep bird etchings and water spots. I think it sat on a lot for awhile.

Wash with Z7

Clay

EC/OP @1500

Heavy cut via 4 inch pads on some bird poop etchings

Smooth Cut @ 1300

Acrylic Jett

This car did not come out 100%. The bird poop etchings were too deep to fully remove, I wetsanded them pretty aggressivly, no luck.

2003 Infiniti G35, black of course! Moderate swirling but the owner was actually fairly good at keeping it in good shape, he just didn't have the tools to do a proper swirl removal. Sorry no befores, it was raining/murky when I arrived. In fact, it rained on and off most of the day (as you'll see in the last pic!). Luckily it was not at inoportune times.

Process was:

Wash

Clay

Heavy Cut @ 1500

Smooth Cut @ 1300

Souveran

First time I've been able to go from a rotary to LSP on a black G. Heavy + Smooth cut is a great combo.

autg1.jpg

2004 Imola Red M3. Again the owner was very particular but the car had heavy swirling. Process:

EC/OP @1500

106FF @ 1300

RMG

Souveran

Used RMG because the owner requested at the expense of durabilty that I "make red look the best I know how". :) You can tell which are the befores and afters!

Good job bro.

Wow amazing turn around on all of those cars especially that Z.

Deep deep paint on that G35, and BMW. Looks sweeeet.

Can't believe someone let a beautiful Z get that bad.

Awesome job :goodjob

ec/op= hi temp extreme cut/ optimum polish

used a rotary

Excellent work on all of them! But, that Imola Red is just insane. I have always loved that particular shade of red, and you made it really pop.

Do you do alot of work for dealerships?

Only two jobs so far. They typically don't want to pay what I charge unless it's a high end dealership and they have a super picky customer.

It's actually an '03, I don't think they do that color anymore. I like it a lot too.

EC = hi temp extreme cut

106ff = menzerna PO106FF

RMG = clearkote red moose glaze

Souveran = Pinnacle Souveran

Makita 9227c rotary, no they are not variable. :)

Amazing!!! I love them all.

Your thoughts on the smooth cut?

Greg

I like it a lot. I find it finishes down *almost* as well as 106ff, maybe more akin to FPII. Upsides are it works much longer, spread easier, and definitely has more cut, it also works in the sun. Downsides are it can be hard to remove if not broken down all the way. As with all hi temps it seems better on a rotary than PC.

Great work! How do you use the RMG? ie: amount of product, pads speed etc.. I have it and have not found a regime for it yet that I like. Thanks for the help

Andrew

I usually put on a good amount of product on a black pad, say 2 quarter sized drops; that will go for almost an entire half of a car (hood, fender, door), I work it at speed 3ish and run over the panels once, then again to work it clear. I find it I don't do that second pass it can come off a bit oily.

Thanks everyone.

Oh, and the 350Z was just recently purschased from a dealer in NY State; apprently it sat on thelow for awhile near sprinklers, and a lot of bird crap just sat on it... so you know how that goes. They tried to buff it before they delivered (obviously), but...you know how that goes too. :)
