Noticed a deep scratch yesterday when I was washing my car

I'm freaking pissed! When I was washing the car I noticed a deep 3 inch scratch on my plastic side skirts on my G35 coupe. I don't know how this would happened, but it looked like someone keyed it. I sanded the area a little so it was flat to apply touch up paint, but it's still sticks out like a sore thumb (the rest of the car is flawless on the sides). What can I do to make this blemish less noticeable besides replacing and painting.

Also do you have any techniques to fix chips, got some on my front bumper.

Sorry to hear that. That sounds like an awfully unusual spot for someone to key a car. You would think they would do it on the door or hood, right where its immediately obvious. :nixweiss

That looks like something brushed against the car or you hit something while driving. I'd be very surprised if that was a keying

What's done is done, I don't care so much about what happened, I just want to know how to repair it.

Honestly, I think you oughta take it to a good shop with experience fixing stuff like that. There are new products out that work pretty well on plastic panels, but you have to know what you're doing and it'll need reshot when they've smoothed it out.

At least it's a smooth texture. Our MPV has lightly textured bumper covers, so we had to replace one over a scratch like that (the repair would've showed). But the smooth bumper cover of our WRX responded just fine to a professional fix.

Keep in mind that there's touch up paint on it, looks alittle better, but it's still way noticeable. Does anyone know a good shop in the socal area that can fix this? How much am I expected to pay for this type of work? Thanks for your help guys
