For once ! It finally happened, the appt. had been set for a couple weeks, I offered a quote on a black (5th black car in a row)SC430 to a gentleman i had met on another forum, who was local to my area. I quoted the appropriate price and stated that it was a preliminary quote, but if there were any serious problems the work would escalate, as well as the price. Now we all know what black has to offer to those who preach neglect, rather than maintenance, so i was kind of prepared for the worst. I had figured i would attack with #80 at a minimum, and then top with NXT. ( I hadent used NXt other than a small sample packet i received at the Megs/Autopia day). Prior to detail day, i had written the gentleman, and asked if there was room in his garage (Weve all had to meander around various household items in homeowners garages, right?!) he said the garage was open, and was clean, very clean he said. Ok, so something was going my way, finally i thought. Today was detail day. I pulled up to the owners driveway, (in a gated community) garage was open, and there lies a Black 02 SC 430, and "Gene" waiting patiently. I walk up to introduce myself, and the standard welcome, and "nice to meet you" ensues.....This garage was the standard that all garages should be held to! Epoxy Flake floors, swept clean, full 270 degree cabinetry, Bose Acoustimass sound, TV, rollup Garage door, and he even provided a fan so i could stay relatively cool ! Not any item, didnt have a home of its own, all behind a closed door. Now on to the SC. 2 yrs old, he keeps it in excellent condition, very minor scratching and water spots (which are a bear anyway, i did minimize but couldnt alleviate, I was hoping they were topical, but the damage had already been done). I proceeded to use WG polish, on horizontal surfaces after a quick QD all around. Then used NXT and EX. The whole time, Gene kept me and my lil helper ( my son Anthony) entertained about car talk, computers, I-Tune/ MAC technology, and all the new gadgets that are available, and hes about to order ! Gene has it ALL TOGETHER......

Funny how I went from one extreme (yesterday, outdoor detail on C230, under the canopy, shifting shade, wind, dust, blah blah blah) to another ! It even inspired me to start a thread on another forum entitled Proper care, of yourself...Period!

Gene, if your out there, i (and i think i can speek for most here) I/we sincerely appreciate people such as you, who have a true, genuine car care interest, in their vehicle(s) condition. You have taken excellent care of it, provided me with a very comfortable atmosphere to work in (A/C would have been better.....kidding)

offered drinks to me and my son, and provided something other than detailing, to think of as i worked........It was a pure pleasure to have worked for you !

Course tomorrow, Im off to the valley, probably 90+ under the EZ up again.....Cant have it all, all the time could I ?????

Nice write up.

Now I really love the wheels on that car!

Most SC430's have the ugly stock wheels, but man those wheels set that car off!

Agreed! Those wheels are SHMOKIN!! Good work Patrick.

Funny thing, that's kind of like the guy that I did work for yesterday. He's a real car guy and even made lunch!!

20 inchers! Nicest Lexus i have ever worked on, without a doubt, the owner truelly has taste......

TD, we took it outside just to let the oils warm up, and wiped them away......

He has a Denali also.....Not his "every" day driver.....Anyone notice the custom ground package ? Also custom roof and rear spoilers.....

Nice work, Patrick!

I too appreciate customers like that. Use of the garage, fans, cold drinks, etc. None of which are expected nor requested but I find the offers to be very kind of them.

Wow The more I look at those wheels..... sweet

That looks like a member garage here, cant remember his name at this time though....

Thanks for the kind comments and wonderful job on my car Patrick! :xyxthumbs

New addition to garage.. Apple Airport Express

I'll see if I can take a few additional pics and post them somewhere this weekend.
