Not new but absent for a while.................

No doubt. My little one is a surviver very capable and physical. My older one is also a surviver and more cerebral than physical and together they worked together using each others strengths and made me very proud.

Allowed me to go wait on 3 hour gas lines.

Bet it made the kids stronger and more adaptable.

Just read all of your posts Jeff. I hear you about family time. Some of my fondest memories were before I had cable, money, and distractions. There is something amazing about just sitting at the table and doing things together.

Thanks Steve! Getting back on top a little more each day! Just punched out from my 2nd job of cleaning the garage and getting all organized. about 1/4 of the way there so far!

oh man, sorry to hear of your misfortune jeff. keep the faith one day at a time friend.

If I recall from you posts you have a little boy manybe about 4-5 y/o ish?Enjoy that time. After about 15 they get really hard to captivate for any meaningful amount of time. We take 2 family vacations a year and they are great for catching up. Life gets busy and kids today are booked. My little guy leaves for school at 7:05 AM, school starts at 7:35AM and he stays after every day for Wrestling practice or a match and walks in a 7PM. Then it is homework and batting cage (getting ready for Baseball tryouts) and Gutar lessions. I have no idea how he does it. Wrestling is also a Saturday event either workout or match!.

My older one is a senior so he is kind of in coast mode. He does well in school so Iu have no issue and he is already set for next year. has a job after school a few days a week.

Really cuts down on the family time.

I try to get home for dinner 4 week-nights a week. Usually a boys night or customer dinners 1x per week.

Enjoy then while they are young. it goes fast, and you cannot (or I could not) understand it from anyone else. My Mother told me it would fly by and it did. i am not outta here yet, but I cannot believe the little boy who slept on my chest when I got home from work 18 years ago it off to college already. Seems like yesterday we brought him to elementary school for the first day!. Take the time to look around and enjoy it, the sub teen years are short lived.

Have a good night!

I can only imagine how much work it is to he back to normal after Sandy. Some of the basic things we take for granted become pretty special when you have to do without them. Glad you're okay and are working on getting everything cleaned up and back to normal

Thanks, we are better every day and close to the end of the ordeal. I am in the process of replacing some AV equipment and getting a new water heater. After that it is costmetic and furniture of which neither is my department. Then I can focus my attention on getting the garage back in shape and re-building my detailing aresenal.
