Not a product yet, but perhaps the future?

Seems like I've read about something like this, I thought it was Mercedes that has a self healing paint (don't quote me on the manufacturer) maybe it was Nissan? Be interesting to see what method they might use to apply this in an automotive application. Would it be incorperated in the paint/clear coat or added as a sealant?

The first 2 model year GT-R's had it on certain colors. I was thinking as a sealant, perhaps prolonging the life of the bond somehow. Pretty wild nonetheless.
 
Seems too much of an issue to fix when it doesn't completely work, early GT-R's have incredibly difficult paint to work with. Same as Ceramicoat.
