Northern California Spring Detailing Event is On

this is basicly a place to meet up and try out other products and methods. this is a good chance to learn to how to wash a car properly and use your toys if you've never done so before.

yup, someone there is an experienced PC-user, right? Haven't touched a car panel with my PC yet :)

I haven't but since it's a random orbital PC then you can't really burn the paint since you won't build up enough heat in one spot. I'd like to learn to use a PC too.

Maybe Sarah will let us experiment on her car if we agree to wash it:D

Nick, I know...read that page as well as a bunch of others. I have a really good idea of what to do, just want to see an experienced person do it in person :D.

no volunteer for the boy scout transport?

Nope! No other Scouts from this area will be there, and it’s tough to get somebody to do a 5-6 hours round trip so that I can go wash my car! If I can break Chris away from his closing activities a little early, I may be able to make it to Sacramento in the early afternoon.

Hey, Medic and gnahc79,

I'm flexible, in the afternoon the front of the shop will be in the shade and it is not going to be that hot this Sunday. If you can believe the weathermen.

Or, we can do it tomorrow afternoon. The shop closes @ 2:00 and we can use it after that.

Medic, you do still have my cell number, right?

By the way, I'm going to bring the following to play with:

Glide Block and Waffle kit

Little Green Machine

Eagle One A to Z

S-100

and, misc. stuff.

BOB

Tomorrow (Saturday) won't work for me. I promised the little lady that I'd take her out of town tomorrow. I guess we could do it later on Sunday, but I'm fine with 8am

I hope that y’all had a good detailing day! I just now got home from the Bear River pickup (2:25) - way too late to join you. :(

It was nice meeting y'all (medic and f150bob). Bob, you got a cool shop and thanks for letting us use the garage. Next time we'll use something more aggressive for that truck of yours. Medic, your Maxima has some serious glow to it :D. I'll post some pics later. Nick, there was some quality PC and AIO fun to be had, maybe next time all of us can make it. :bounce

good meeting both of you too. I thought my car was alright (far from perfect, but better than many cars on the road) before, but now I know just how much more work it needs to compare to others on this board. I've already made a wish list for a PC and little green machine...

gnahc79, even my gf commented that the car is shiner than she's ever seen it...I owe it all to f150bob's orbital and the s100

some pics:

f150bob taking pics while medic is admiring the AIO, Blackfire and whatever else you guys tried out before I arrived :)

f150bob giving my car a coat of S100 after all of us used the handy PC: #9 + yellow pad at about 5K rpm, followed by VM applied by hand:

How many of you made it ! Im sorry i couldnt go but Nor Cal is a lil ways away for me.....

I should work on a So Cal gathering durring the summer....(if I only knew someone at the beach)

Hey, wheres that "Malibu" at ??

Medic and gnahc79, it was a pleasure to meet both of you. :wavey

Medic, thanks for making the effort to get us together and bringing your "stuff" for us to play with.

gnahc79, thanks for sharing the PC and other "stuff" with us.

I had a great time an learned a lot. I'm now ready to move past Meg's #9 for removing swirls; heck, after playing with the PC and seeing how easy to use it was, I may even spring for one.

:bounce

Here are a couple of pics. The Maxima, after the AIO, partway through the process.

there were only three of us total, but that gave us some time to get involved with each car. Actually, we never really touched F150BOB's truck other then some PC action with #9 to see how it handled the swirls.
