First up - 2002 Nissan Maxima



This guy is a regular customer of mine. Principal of a Correctional High School in a rough area. The guy is jacked, but very nice. Anyways, they mark the parking spots at his school and being a principal, some punk kids keyed the $hit out of it.



I gave it a good wash and he stood out there wanting to see what my Makita Rotary would do with Meguiar's SFP on the key marks. Well, the kids didn't do a very good job. I didn't get pics, but I REMOVED all the key marks from the trunk lid, rear 1/4, driver's side rear door, and roof. He was thrilled. My final process was:



-Wash

-SFP Spot Buff on Scratches with Polishing Pad

-Gliptone Probuff with Polishing Pad

-NXT

-Armor All on Tires

2nd up - 1995 Chevy Astro



This is my mom's work van. This will be an "Extreme Makeover" job when I get home from college to do it. In the meantime I just did an NXT wash and vacuumed it out while I was home.



No full pics, but the rims were stained badly. I used generous amounts of SFP and a Polishing Pad on the Makita Rotary.

3rd up - 2000 Nissan Pathfinder (Canadian ChilKoot Edition)



This is belongs to a Professor at my University. He has his Doctorate's in Marketing and has helped me a lot with my business. Total time on this one was 7 hours minus a 10 minute lunch break. Final process was:



-Mother's Gold Wash

-Clay Majic w/ Soapy Water Lube

-Meguiar's #82 SFP w/ Polishing Pad on Makita Rotary

-Klasse AIO

-S100 Paste



-Armor All on tires and exterior trim

-303 on Interior Trim

-Shout Oxy Power Mixture on carpets and Upholstery

-Gliptone Glass Cleaner on Glass

4th Up - My Girlfriend's 99 Snaab 9-3



She did a QEW wash and QD yesterday and today decided to do the interior with the Lexol Twins, 303 on Plastic and Vinyl, and just wiped down the windows.



On the exterior today, she did the tires and exterior plastic trim with Armor All. BTW: It was Klasse'd back in August, sat in a garage under a cover all winter, and there is definately still signs of Klasse on the surface.

Can you tell me exactly what the carpet cleaner is that you use??



also, do you use the griots brush to get that effect on the carpets???

Last week I put a coat of S100 on, so it currently has



SG x 2

NXT x 1

S100 x 1



Today, I QEW'd, Armor All'd the tires and trim, polished the exhaust, and wiped down the interior with a damp WW MF.

How long have you used the Makita? I haven't seen you mention it before?



You use the Bissell Steam machine on the seats and carpeting right? I like the pattern it makes on the floor! Do you scrub by hand with a brush and then extract or use the Bissell for both?



I see all the Gliptone products at Strauss and Pep Boys. It's a northeast thing. I think they are based in Long Island. I haven't used much of their product just the Car Wash soap which I relegated to wheel cleaning ever since I found Meguiars #62 and Sonax.



Warm weather felt great huh? I've got almost 80 degree weather here in Jersey! I had a nice long wash and Souveran wax date with my car this morning. :D

This is what I do on carpets:



What you will need

-Hi-power vacuum

-Carpet Extractor (Small Bissel Cleaner or something of the sort)

-Shout Oxy Power

-2-3 Gal Bucket

-Medium Stiffness Bristled Nylon Brush





What to do

-Vacuum out the upholstery or carpet

-Mix in the 2-3 gal bucket: 2 scoops of Shout Oxy Power and the rest with warm/hot water

-Stir it up with the brush and let it sit for 5 mins for the product to saturate into the water

-Proceed to then scrub the solution into the carpet. You will see the solution saturated into the carpet. Just scrub the solution in and work to your next area.

-When the entire area is saturated, begin where you begun scrubbing the first section. Proceed to extract the water solution out of the carpets/upholstery.

-Let it all dry and Voila!





Notes



-I say use a carpet extractor, but you can use a Wet/Dry Vac to suck out the solution. A bissel extractor works better though. Do your research, I am sure there is something at Wal-Mart that will work well. However, make sure you can get it into tight spaces.

-Repeat if necessary. For deep stains, just apply the solution and

I recieved the Makita back in December. I have buffed about a dozen cars with it so far. I absolutely love it.

Correct, Gliptone is a Long Island Company (where I live). I have tried many of their products and the ones I mention are very good in my eyes.



The weather is amazing...65* yesterday, 67* today, 86* tomorrow :shocked

I use a standard medium bristled brush from Wal-Mart (home cleaning section) to agitate the carpets successfully.



The lines I get are stictly from the attachment on my extractor.
 
After shampooing carpets ( my process is identical to GSR's) I use to a brush to give the carpeting a "pattern". I did a Dodge Caravan owned by a Cantor of one of the area's Temples. I put the "Star of David" in the rear of the Caravan for him... he was impressed! ;)
 
Looks awesome, so you use 2 galons of water on a cars carpet? Seems like a lot...details look great byw:xyxthumbs . Love the pattern on the maxima carpet, how wide (in inches) is your extractor tool? OR is it one of those crevice tools you use? Thanks a lot

Thanks for the compliments everyone!



2 gallons is what I fill it up with (standard solution). I've maybe gone through the entire 2 gallons once or twice on heavily abused vehicles. For the Maxima, I definately didn't use it all.



What I do with the carpets to remove the solution is press very hard on the extractor and move slowly back and forth in the most comfortable and thorough way I can. Then, to get the nice stripes, I go up, then down on an angle...up straight, down on an angle, and so on. My extractor head is roughly 3 inches wide. I think it leaves it pretty professional looking.

haha...I actually got it as part of some promo deal. It's great for holding mf's and bottles of sorts. Plus, it keeps my belt and buttons away from the vehicle's surface.
