Hello everyone, i just had a quick question about some products. Actually to ask you guys if you had any suggestions about what kind of products to use to detail my car. I dont really have access to any big time retail detail products, so i really would like to know what are some good products to purchase at a pep boys, or walmart even. im really looking for a soap, wax-pref 1 stage(i dont have a high-speed buffer), leather/interior cleaner, as well as an all-purpose cleaner that is safe on chrome (wheels), aluminum (grill), and paint to get bugs off. Any help you guys give would be greatly appreciated, thank you again!

God bless

Kyle

Here are some suggestions just from a little personal use and from reading the forums.

Soap: Duragloss 901 (NAPA/Carquest - a lot will recommend this). I also like Meguiar's Gold Class.

Wax (not really one step): Mother's Reflections and Synwax; Meguiar's #26; Collinite 845 (I think I saw this available locally at one time). Duragloss (101 is AIO and 105 is a great sealant). Also try the Duragloss Aqua Wax.

Interior: I usually only use botique water based stuff so I don't know

Also as a recommendation for tires, I find Mother's FX tire shine to be a nice water based dressing available locally.

I'm guessing you want OTC so you don't have to pay shipping?

You are inevitably going to end up doing some driving around in order to get good OTC stuff..

Why not use the money you would have used on gas and order from Duragloss? $4.95 shipping and, the products are typically equal to or less than the cost of OTC stuff- you can get set up real nice if you go this route.

If that sounds good say the word and the suggestions will come flying......

2 good quality soaps are Meguiar's Gold Class and Duragloss 901 Concentrate. I was using MGC and just started using the DG and really like it - a very slick wash. Its available at Car Quest auto parts stores or directly from DG.

For a wax, I would get a cleaner-wax that will remove some surface defects, even with hand polishing. Good choices are: Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax, Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, Meguiar's Cleaner Wax #6. The burgundy is more available (Walmart, etc) but I think #6 is a bit more potent since its the professional version.

In my area.

Walmart carries Mothers Synwax.

Pep Boys carries Mothers Reflections, Mothers Pure Carnauba, and Meguiars #26.

CarQuest carries some Meguiars and most Duragloss stuff (except 105. Napa (the ones that look like company stores) carries some Duragloss and Meguiars.
