noob just ordered some 203 and pads...any adivce

Last year i got a PC 7424XP with a bunch of 6.5 inch CCS pads and poorboys SSR1 and SSR2.5



Even with an orange pad, the 2.5 didn't really do anything to help with the minor swirls and cobwebs on the clear of my vette.



I haven't read too much positive about the poorboys polishes and or CCS pads, or the fact that they are 6.5 inch.



So i'm changing it up a little.



Yesterday i ordered a bottle of Menz 203 (which i've read is a good AIO polish and a 6 pack of LC 5.5 inch FLAT pads. 2 orange, 2 white, and 2 black.



Anyone have any advice on how to approach my situation? Anything else i need at this point?

Well I would suggest that maybe (dont be offended) that the problem is with your technique.



Ive had very good luck with SSR2.5/1 and my G110. However, thats mostly been on 4" pads. Since 203 is about the same cut as SSR2.5, maybe you will be okay. Unfortunately, GM is known for having some pretty hard clears. You may need to try

something more aggressive like M105, or PFW/Surbuf, depending on the extent of the damage.
 
No offense taken. it may be my technique. it may be the fact that the pads were huge and i'm using a DA. Who knows. Hopefully it'll get better with more practice.
 
Indeed. I think that is probably the best remedy. You cant under sell experience. Keep at it and don't let it get you down. You might try working on some other paints

as well, just to see how much difference the type paint can make.
 
I get much better results with my old PC and 4 inch pads, I think the newer machines can do well with larger pads but I think the old style seem to correct better with 4 inch pads.

I don't get much of any correction on typical GM clear with M205 unless I use such an aggressive approach that IMO it's the wrong thing to do.



And +1 on 4" pads for correction.

I hear ya. But i'm talking about Menzerna 203 Power Finish.....
