No! Subway discontinued my favorite dressing

are there any "Potbelly's" near you guys?...probably one of the tastiest franchise sandwiches here in the chicagoland area...puts subway/quiznos/schlotzky's to shame...

a favorite "deli-style" for me is "Jimmy John's"...

tsk, tsk, tsk...you haven't seen the light yet - only quizno's or schlotsky's(sp) for me

I'm with you. If they don't know how to cut a bun without my direction they aren't making my sandwich.

They've opened a few in the north Dallas/Richardson/Plano area but none out on my side of the DFW area.

Spilchy-they used fresh baked rolls, Boar's Head meats, etc. Really good stuff, very flavorful. We get lucky when you Yankees get sick of the cold winters year after year and move down here and open restaurants! The best pizza in the area is in a converted Dairy Queen. Some brothers from your neck of the wood turned it into a Pizza/Italian restaurant. Beats the you-know-what out of the chains.

My buddy who is 100% Sicilian and myself were thinking about opening a pizza joint together in a place that has none. His folks own an Italian catering business. I love his family get togethers - no joke, its an episode out of the Sopranos! His family from Brooklyn and Staten Island all come to Jersey. There are more Vitos, Johnnies and Tonys than you can shake a stick at!!

...don't EVEN get me started about the pizza too!!

I am 100% American of 100% Sicilian descent (myself, both my parents and all four of their parents were born in Brooklyn) and I can vouch for this statement. Trying to find good pizza or any "eye-talian" food down here has been quite the chore. Everytime my wife and I head north to visit family I end up eating pizza at least once a day.

That said...good southern BBQ can make you forget REAL fast about those tasty food treats from my "yankee" days!!

Oh...and I like Quizzno's better than Subway. ;)

Mike-you aren't kidding about the BBQ! Memphis style or Texas, it's all good!

And don't forget TN, NC, SC and AL style BBQ!

Dang .. if it wasn't raining so hard I'd fire up a smoker right now! :)
