NO shine interior dressing?

Thanks so much everyone for your suggestions! So many to choose from!

I will have to talk him into using anything at all because he doesnt want it to look any different , no shine , no sheen or darkening...NOTHING!Its a black interior too, I forgot to mention.

I have a couple natural looking dressings but know he wouldnt go for any sheen whats so ever. Real nice guy but he knows what he wants and doesnt want and is very fussy .

I just want something on the interior to protect it. A couple things suggested didnt offer any protection, although I do appreciate the effort !

Looks like I have a lot of products to research now .Thanks again everyone for heping me out with this! :yourrock

Definitely check out the Ultima Interior Guard Plus. It doesn't change the looks, and it last and last. Corey has a review around here somewhere.

Such as? :inspector:

Contrary to popular opinion, 1Z CP and Meg's QID do both offer UV protection in them, if they're what you're referring to. I didn't see any other products mentioned that would provide questionable protection....

Yes I was referring to the megs QID,this link didnt give any info on a uv protection.
Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer
Are you sure it has the UV ? Thanks!

The other was the baby shampoo but I still appreciate the info! Its nice to know even if I dont use it on this car.

On the bottle itself (which I have sitting here on my desk) it says:

"Contains sunblocking agents to preserve original appearance"

So yep, I'm sure about the UV :inspector:

I've been using this stuff almost exclusively ever since the original version came out a few years ago and I've seen no problems whatsoever on any of the vehicles I regularly maintain.

Thankyou Shiny!! :bigups

I'm going to buy and try the Meg's Quick Detailer this holiday weekend. Damn it. Just when I think I have found the ideal product for my liking, somebody suggests another one that makes me curious.:bigups

Thanks I will! I wonder though how you know how long it lasts if you cant see a difference? By touch maybe?
It does darkent ever so slightly, but it hard to tell. You can tell by touch for sure, it makes everything feel soft for lack of a better word. It's really a great product for people that want UV protection but no shine at all. As for Nero, it def has a shine to it that people will notice.

That may be true for black. I've used it on my charcoal gray interiors and after buffing, there is no shine, just a clean look.

Off topic:

It's also likely that interior vinyls that are treated once or twice a year will look duller even when using same product than one that is dressed once a month or more. No buildup.

The flattest dressing I have ever used is Eagle One's Concours Dressing. It definitely has that matte look.

I believe it is now discontinued, but Kevin Brown should have a few gallons lying around.

DC, sonax matte finish has no shine. I have a review out there if you want to see pictures of how it looks. Its posted on l2d and ag

Hey Dasher! great to see you here. To the OP there are lot's of great responses here for your interior job. Let us know what you end up in using and some pictures if you could.........:)

Thankyou everyone again!!!

One thing Ive noticed about interior dressings is they can take very differently to different Vinyles. I have the megs natura shine and sometimes it goes on super shiney, sometimes its pretty flat.

This particular interior is the newer soft pad like vinyl.

Yes Angelo I will try to post some pics when I get to the job again ."picture"

Still deciding what to get , so many many choices!!!:)

If he doesn't want anything then why put anything on? Your just making it harder on yourself by doing more work while risking losing him as a customer. I'd just give him what he wants and be done with it.

Mainly for protection. He wasnt opposed to having anything on it ,just didnt want any changes of appearance.I wont be losing this customer thats for sure ;)

On black interior, there's no such thing sweetie. :)

1Z cockpit premium is the closest you will get.

I was hoping you would chime in Mark as I know your a NO shine guy! What do you like to use on your Vette?

Yeah, I was worried the black was going to be a problem .

Have you tried the sonax?

I worry that the smell of IZ cockpit may be a problem after someone described it as a" perm" smell. Thats a rotton egg smell as I remember.

Sonax is good, but I feel 1Z has a slighly more matte finish(both are low shine). I only use 1Z CP on the vette. :D

1Z does not smell anything remotely like rotten eggs, and not really like a perm either. It's not the most pleasant smelling, but it's not bad either, IMO. The smell wears off relatively quickly.
