No-Bama Care ?????

I`m all for trimming the fat, but isolationism isn`t the answer, especially if the question is how do we make an ill conceived medical plan work

Well I`ll be....guess I oughta bit my tongue a little! Just got an ACA-mandated rebate related to my most recent eye surgery. It`s only $112 but it *is* something positive. At least at face-value and I`m not in the mood to be all cynical about it....today ;)

Do you send a "thank you note" to O, or to tax payers, or to all the younger less medically necessary kids who paid higher than they should so as to "lower costs"?

Heh heh, given my rants about Wasting Resources....you can guess ;)

Heh heh, gee, see what I get for being graciously positive about something :D Why, that $112 might almost cover one of the bandages they billed me for.

That reminds me of a funny or not so funny story........

Somewhere in the early 90`s, I was buying batteries for AED`s. The batts cost about 200.00. Since it was medical Eq, it had an "expiration date" on the label, which was about a year out with each purchase. They were also NiCads, so they really didn`t like being plugged in all the time and tested once a shift, then being plugged back in, so lots were bought continuously. One day I peeled the aed co sticker off the batt, and it was the same Sanyo batt that I had in my cam corder that I could buy at circuit city for 35.00. I asked the distributer what gives......... he said, want to figure out what the liability ins costs per piece?

I asked the town`s attorney if I could just buy batts at circuit city. He said no, since then the aed manuf could shift liability back to town for bad outcome.

Anyone that can`t make a buck off of Obamacare hates it. If the government didn`t shove Medicare down doctors throats they wouldn`t take that either. I have something called Veterans Choice/Healthnet and I can`t get a doctor to take that either because they don`t want to deal with more paperwork. It pays at the same rate as Medicare. People give a lot of lip service about helping veterans but when it comes down to actually doing something for veterans that`s another story. Talk is cheap. Obamacare is fatally flawed but at least someone tried. Maybe if the Republican led House and Senate would take a few days off from dialing for dollars they might be able to come up with a more workable plan. Very doubtful. It`s easier to pick apart someone else`s plan than to submit one that might fail. I have a fatalist attitude when it comes to our government.
