No Access to a Hose --- Suggestions

I also live in an apartment and have no access to outside water. My local car wash has the high power hose and a sign saying "no bucket washing". Here's my routine:



I get up around 6 AM Sunday morning, throw on some clothes and head straight down to the carwash. Before I leave the house I put a small amount of car shampoo on a cotton wash mitt. I get to the carwash early enough that I'm usually the only one there. I spray the car from a safe distance, then use the mitt to wipe it down, intermittently spraying with the hose to keep the car wet. I drive home and chamois the car in the parking lot. Now, I can shower, have breakfast, drink some coffee and relax knowing I've got a nice clean car outside waiting for me.



Maybe I shouldn't have told you this. I'll probably get to the carwash next Sunday morning and find 50 Autopians already there. :D

I don't go to the self service places for a number of reasons. The attendants don't like people bringing their own supplies. I've had them ask me not to use my own stuff even if I am paying to use their water. It was also a PITA

to try and get water in the bucket. The only water was high pressure and it either knocked the bucket 7 feet away or just blew everything out of the bucket. So I choose not to go to these places anymore. Too much aggravation. I also don't like to feel rushed when I wash my truck.

Sometimes I use the Protect-All and sometimes I go to the car wash. I usually go to the car wash when I wake up in time (which is 6:00 AM). If I'm too tired and HAVE to sleep in, I use Protect-All. If you get to the car wash right when the sun comes up, you'll have no problems using a bucket full of water and shampoo. I also bring my own water in an arrowhead 5 gallon jug. I bring two buckets (& two wash mitts)...one for the wheels and the other for the paint. It's a lot of work carrying everything, but it's worth it, IMO.
