Now, a thing that's killing me and which I simply cannot understand is that's it's got two completely different sides.

This would be "the right" side as far as I understand mf cloths

So, what's this other side? Is it to be used for buffing off polishes or waxes or not?

I'm also interested in the subject.

I have one too, buy untill now, i didn't find a use for it. It is not absorbing water well, I used it for removing dressing on the exterior.
 
From your pictures that is NOT a woven towel, it is a non-woven process that is similar to the process used to make paper towels. To do this you make the fiber into a pulp and run it through a press along with a bonding agent. Bonding agent is a fancy name for glue. The fabric is then cut with a pinking roller which gives it that zig zag edge and cuts down on fraying. Typically this process is used on disposable items.



IMO I'd say be VERY careful and thoroughly test them before using them on your paint. Can they be washed?

They can be washed but the temperature must not exceed 60C.

Also must not be washed with softeners and must not be dryed in dryers.

So, another crappy item in my collection. They're great for interior tho.

They bind dust like crazy and are damn easy to wash.
 
That towel looks like the way cheaper green poker table felt looks like after about a week. But the poker table felt shedded like crazy instead of picking up lint!
