Nice MR2 *BLACK*

I detailed a freshly imported MR2 today, and it was a pretty nice car. It really needs a repaint, as some swirls weren't removable. The car was brought in for a girls 18th birthday. Some birthday gift. :furious:

Oh well, processes:

Wash

Clay

Automagic XP Swirl Remover on black cutting pad via rotary at 2000 RPM

"" on green polishing pad via rotary on 1000 RPM

Meguiars #82 via rotary on polishing pad

Automagic Express Wax Carnuba by hand

Automagic's new water based Dress It Right on the tires and trim

Sprayway foaming glass cleaner on glass

Klasse AIO and clay on the rims

Armor all in the wheel wells

Before:

Inbetween on the front end: (Still not done the last two polishing steps.)

Nice transformation! You truly seem to get all the beaters. :LOLOL

If I remember correctly, the Toyota black was clear coated. My '93 MR2 turbo Super Red had no clear coat and it seemed to oxidize rather quickly. How'd you like trying to polish/wax the engine compartment deck lid with the louvered slats? That to me was the biggest PITA. The fact that the whole car is so low to the ground and all the curved body panels gives a new meaning to keeping that baby detailed. Thanks for the mister two memories. :up

This was single stage. I hate single stage. :hairpull

As far as the slats and stuff, I just threw on a bigger pad so it wouldn't get sucked in there. Worked pretty good.

He'll be picking it up in about 2-3 hours, and tomorrow he's bringing his 91 Corvette. :)

Now if only he would go to AutoZone and get his daughter a nice set of black abs stainless license plate frames and real fastening bolts .. She would be SOOOO in there !!

Big improvement though Steevo !

Those are the plates for his corvette. Shh...its not registered. ;) :LOLOL

Great job on the transformation.

Those wheels are horrible. I fail to understand how someone thinks that they look good.

I am more curious as to why you would give a RHD vehicle to an 18yr old who probably doesn't have that much driving experience under her belt. After getting used to the RHD, that has got to mess her up when she gets her next car and has to learn all over again!

Maybe he wants to write her out of the will :LOLOL
