Next Tool For Business??

Ok well i just started up my business and have already done two cars. One received a wash, exterior detail, interior detail, and wax, and the other vehicle received an interior detail... Tomorrow I have a customer scheduled for a wash, exterior detail, and interior....



I have always been a hands on guy, but started to see that something’s are taking tooooooo long, and need to be able to get the simple things done quicker...



I have already order my g110, so that will be here Friday, but here is a list of things I think I could use to speed up my details, and if you can think of any suggestions, please do so!!!



Power washer

Air compressor

Little Green Machine



So what should be my next purchase??

I do all my detailing without any of those three things you mentioned.



You just need to get more familiar with your process and eventually you will be doing your details in half the time.
 
I'm the same as Todd up until a month ago. I picked up a pressure washer just to have some fun with the foam cannon but I'm not too sure if that counts lol...
 
Then again, I have a Metro Vac that I use to blow out cracks after washing and a Euro Steamer that works 100x better and faster than a LGM...



The biggest time saver you will find is what I like to call "foot time". This is time you are walking around the car and not actually doing anything (eg. looking for a clean MF, leaving your wash buckets on the other side of the car, jumping in the front seat to move the seat up).



Have a caddy with all your chemicals/brushes/tools and carry it around the car with you. Make a routine out of every detail you do and it will slowly speed up.



I always start with the trunk/hatch when doing an interior and work my way to the driver seat. If you can do the entire interior with only having to enter each door once you are doing good.

Agree, im probably walking around too much and not cleaning the car...



My interior Im doing the same routine you are, working from the back up to the drivers seat...



Maybe I should look into a caddy, that would difently save me from walking into the garage to get a clean MF towel...

The air compressor will save you the most time over all the other stuff. I would almost say that every detailer out there should have some sort of way of blowing out all the seat tracks crooks and crannies. (air compressor being the easiest way to do this) The PW will save you quite a bit of time as well. The LGM isn't really going to save you anytime but it might net you some better results. A good assortment of scrub brushes will save buttloads of time as well. But getting the process down and just knowing how to tackle things before hand is the biggest difference to all detailing when it comes to saving time. Like Todd said wasting time walking around looking for stuff is a huge time waster another is not knowing your chemicals and products and what they can do. Trying this out and that out only to find out they aren't working then looking for something else that does will eat up time like no other.
 
To speed up your process, you will want to get some training form a pro, thats the shortest way to success. As far as tools go get a steamer, you will never regret it.

Yeah the compressor would defiantly help, and the LGM would probably produce "better" and cleaner results....



Agree 100% on the brushes.. I picked up three different head interior/exterior brushes and I don’t know what i would do with out them.... :spot

I think my next purchase will be a much needed caddy... I was detailing a car today and found myself walking into the garage to get a MF towel, go find an attachment for my shop vac, and etc...
