Yup, unlike a lot of other companies that just repackage the same stuff and then market it as some new revolutionary product.



Apparently, the claybar was also improved. It's bigger than before and not as rubbery.:up
 
Oh great! I have two bottles of Z2, yep it's somewhat pink. It had like a seperation film on top when I got them. The Z5 is the old one, black bottle dark pink/orange in color.



Oh well, I better break down and order more Z2 just to see and the Z5, well why not.



Gotta strip the SC430 anyway, still have to get the swirls fully out B4 the new Zaino.



Now if Sal can make Z2 with a ZFX drying effects, that would be really sweet! No more little bottles and droppers. Begining to look like a pool guy with all these tubes!

OK. dad-burn-it! I'm torched! Just bought $100-worth of stuff from Zaino, arrived yesterday (very speedy delivery), after a long time of using Zaino, and they gave me not a word of new/improved Z2. Klasse, here I come! (Where's the smilie for "off to the races"??)



And, yeah, I'm being intemperate. Just let me fulminate for 12 hrs. I'll settle down.
 
Lynn, Id contact Sal or CS at Zaino and ask for the switch to the newer product. I'd also follow up with asking that they find a way to inform those purchasing Zaino which ones they are getting, or have a reduced price blow-out....



MMM blow-out, sale, oh yea COSTCO... Send it to COSTCO :)



Seriously, give them a call or email and inquire.



Gee if I order now, is it a crap shoot?

i hadnt noticed the warning about leaving the polish zfx mixture in the bottles for more than 12 hours,and to pitch it if you did.i mixed almost a full bottle of z2 and z5 and have put about 4 coats of each on 2 cars. whatsthe deal with this other than making it hard to clean the bottles.
 
I needed a re-supply of Zaino while they were teasing Zfx. I asked if it would be coming out soon so I could wait on my order and save on shipping. Sal said it wasn't coming in the near future. I ordered my stuff and less than a week afterwards, Zfx comes out. I was miffed to say the least, but didn't feel like dealing with 'Mr. Personality' Sal to see what they could/would do about it.



I ended up waiting several months and buying it when I ordered a bunch of Zaino as a Christmas gift. I wouldn't mind trying the new stuff, but I have a bunch of the old stuff left and too many other products lying around to use first.
 
I received my order yesterday. The z-2 was the new stuff. It was light pink, lighter then my old bottle at least. The z-5 I received last week was like a vanilla color though. Oh well :)
 
I must have gotten lucky; I got the new stuff this week when I re-ordered. The Z2 is now pink, the Z5 comes in a white bottle and the product is yellow.



The product is thinner and at first I thought "WTF? Is Zaino going cheap on us?" However, as the previous poster noted, it really is better because it spreads just as well as the old product, but it's easier to use and there's less wastage from it sticking to the inside of the bottle.



I put on a coat of the new Z2 on my Silverstone 350Z and I swear it's even shinier! It's brighter, and reflections are even sharper. I called Zaino to comment on the new product and Sal suggested that I try the Z5. He said that with some paint colors you might get a better result from Z5 than Z2. He said with every car you really need to play around with combinations of the two products to find your best mix; they're different products and you get different results with them. I was skeptical, so I put on another coat of Z2 on half the car and a coat of Z5 on the other half.



I took the car to a meet today and asked a few of the guys to tell me which side is shinier. They both chose the Z5 side and I agree! Interesting!

Did Sal mention any guidelines as to which colours look better with Z5 or Z2? I have a chrome silver 350Z.

the guideline on Zaino has always been that darker colors will look good with Z5, and lighter colors with Z2. Now this guideline may be different with the new products, but thats what it always used to be/has been.
 
I did 2 coats of the new Z2 on my IS300 today, and man sal has really done it with this new zaino. So much easier to work with, and I love that it doesnt stick to the ZFX bottle! No wasted product! It is slicker and glossier than ever! :xyxthumbs

I need to try this stuff. But I have 3/4 full bottle of old Z2 and Z5 each that I have to use up first. Hopefully, the new stuff doesn't attract dust as much. Is there a new formulated Z6 or other products also?



I wish Sal would come up with a Z2/Z5 without needing to use ZFX or Z1 initially or needing to use ZFX for single day multiple layers.
 
On my black car I've always done Z-5 about three layers but always finished with Z-2, which is what sal reccommends because it is almost optically perfect. My question is this: after zfx'd z-5, can i add a layer of z-2 without zfx right after or am i supposed to wait till the next day for the z-2?
