Newbies first serious detail

I finally had the time and the weather to do a pretty serious detail on my black Jetta. I had used the PC for the first time a couple of weeks ago to get a feel for it before I attacked the Jetta. The car had a small amount of swirls, nothing serious. I have owned the car since new and it has only had Zaino products used on it. Here are the steps that I used:

Dawn Wash

Zaino Clay

Dawn Wash

PC with SMR

Dawn Wash

3 coats of Z-2 w/ZFX and Z-6 between each coat

Windows with Z-12 using PC

Tires dressed with Z-16

Let me know what you think!

Woops, you missed a spot. Can you see it? It's right there...

Just kidding, it looks good.

One note since you said you were a newbie - that tire dressing looks great on the black car, but when doing other colors (mostly lighter colors) use something with less shine to it. It makes the car look classy and not like "Armor All" overkill.

Thanks all for the encouragement!

TheCompleteLook - Thanks. Couldn't agree more about the tire dressing. The picture doesn't really show how the tire looks. It does not look nearly as shiny in person. It is a much more matte finish which I really like.

Looks sweet! I've got the same car in green.

I'll be doing my full detail in a couple weeks using 3m clay, #9, #3, BF PP, P21s.

Good job!
