Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just bought a 2003 Chevy Silverado and would like to give it a exterior detail. The paint is in great shape except for a few minor scratches and dings. I don't have an orbital so I will be doing it by hand. I am sure it was detailed at the car lot, but I am sure that I can do much better with your help. What products do I need and any are there any products I can use that I can buy locally. I would like to do it in a couple of days. Any help would rock.

As far as picking up product locally, you will probably be limited to mostly Meguiar's stuff and possibly some Mother's and 3M products at local auto parts stores, Wal*Mart or Target.
If you have a Body & Paint supply store available, you could check out the Meguiar's Professional line of products.

Meguiar's ColorX and NXT Tech Wax should be readily available and while it's not what I use, I think it would be a good combination. You could use it for now and when you decide to move on to something else, (and you will), you can give it to a friend and get them hooked on detailing.
