Hi im Monkey and im a Alcoho........

whrong Forum

In in Southampton UK and im new to all this Extreme Car Cleaning, uptill yesterday all i did was hose down ,go over with a sponge and some soapy water, hose down and drive it (no drying etc)

my recent car (12 year old Mazda MX5) was in the body shop having the front end rebuild (lorry hit me) and they did a fantastic job of it, but now the rest of the car looked crap, so i decided to have a go, i bougt a random buffer thingy (i dint know all the names of stuff yet) Meguiers glay bar and a Autoglym set and went to work on it.

well i was supprised how long and how many times you have to do it, but after 3-4 goes on my boot 9just as a test) the swirls are almost gone, (using autogylm paint renovater) then finishing with Autoglym presin Polish, i had a go with Maguiers Clay bar pack but that eneded up look messy and streak marks (i think the body work was too hot) but over all for my first attempt i was pleased, and suprised.

the only thing is that tis British Racing Green and in direct sunlight the colour looks dull, but when in shade or twilight it loos fantash and silky smooth and shiny, any tips

well looks like this forum is brill and be prepaired for some stupid question from my self, i want to be able to do this sort of thing for my self and not have to pay for it to be done.

and i also enjoyed doing it
