Hello everyone,

I'm Pat and I'm glad to meet you. I have a Black 2002 WS6 Convertible and a Bordeau Red '99 I30t. The Trans-Am is my first black car, first convertible. I know a little about waxing and polishing but since I now have a black car, I better make sure I'm doing it right!

So, I plan on reading as much as I can to figure out what I need to make the car look (and stay) really good. So please let me know:

1. What tools should I use. (I have some kind of Sears orbital buffer currently)

2. What or whom should I use for my cars. The TA only has 14k on it.....very good condition. The I30 has 82k and the clear coat is in real bad condition.....the paint is good though. The previous owner must have taken it through the spinning brush carwash at least once a week......lot's of thin scratches.

So, any help you could give to a newbie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Welcome Pat --

with proper prep Klasse AIO/SG + Quality wax topper (eg. S100/P21) looks great on black, and provides fantastic durability.

Hi colche....yeah, the cc is pretty bad....actually, REALLY bad. I was going to take some pictures and then ask for help. I'm learning what "proper prep" is from the site. I'll look into those products thanks.

Durability, yes on the I30 (daily driver).....no on the ta since it's just a summer car.

:welcome to the addiction patKWS6 !

Glad you joined us. You'll learn a lot here.

We look forward to seeing pics of your rides and the work you've done on them.

:welcome PatKWS6!!

Excellent choice in rides...but as you can see...I'm a bit biased. ;)

PLEASE post some pics of the WS6 when ya' get her all shined up!

:wavey Welcome Pat. You will enjoy reading in the learning section of autopia, much to learn. After that browse the Autopia university forum and try searches on the subjects you wish.

Welcome to Autopia Pat!!!!

I joined last month and I have learned so much from here, not to mention that I spent $600 on car care products. However, I love every minute of it. Enjoy and have fun taking care of your cars!!

well....this is a nice start with so many hello's. Thanks!

Unfortunately it's going to be single digits here in Chicago for a while so I won't be able to wash the car.....but I'll try and get pics of the I30 as soon as I can.

The Bordeaux Red is a really cool color (maroon with orange specs) but man, I'm going to need some help!!!
