newbie question

Hi all.
I was wondering ,is it OK to polish the entire car using a random orbital polisher ?and buff the whole car after?or should I do one small section at a time.(like beemerboy mentioned)
I'll be using a sealant afterwards but it makes more sense to do this part one section at a time.

Actually you are a little backwards. You'll want to remove your polishes after each panel and your sealant after you are done your whole car.

It is best to get the polish off right away because some get very difficult to remove when they dry onto the paint. The sealant on the other hand needs some time to bond to the paint before removing the excess. Read the directions and see what the manufacturer says about set up time. 30-60 minutes should be enough...
 
Plus the fact you'll want to see the finish on the section you're just finished working before moving on to the next section. The only way to do that is to buff off any remaining polish. If I'm correcting some bad areas I'll even spritz iso/water on that section just to make sure I've removed all the imperfections/microscratches etc. before moving on.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.
 
Depending on the product you are using. Some products are recommended to leave on and some you should remove right away. I always do small sections at a time anyways...

Like Bud said. I polish sections at a time and remove right after application. The sealant (PB EX) I leave on for a while unless I apply in direct sunlight. All depends on the situation also...
