Sorry for not replying earlier. I was away and then things have been extremely hectic lately.
Thanks for your earlier reply. Its very difficult to say that the scratches were there before or after. Possibly a few scratched from the the clay but definitely not all of them.
I went to my local body shop and we tried a couple of different rubbing compounds and did a little section by hand but no improvement what so ever.
I then had a chat to the owner and he said to me that there is such a fine sharp dust in botswana. I had just done a full wash on the car and 10mins later there was this extra fine desert dust on the car. He said its an inherent problem with the air in this country and very little we can do about it. One of the biggest problems is if you wash the car outside as soon as you washing this dust settles on the water and you end up scratching no matter what.
He has suggested that i take this car into his workshop and we do some more polishing with Speed and possibly a fine rubbing compound to get the scratches out as best we can then then do the application of Nitro Seal immediately after when its in a reasonable dust free environment.
Do you think this could be a solution? It seems on the white car the scratches show up much more than on a metallic finish. The clear coat on metallics seem to hide those very fine scratches really well.
