Hi! This is my first post so I hope you go easy on me guys... :wavey

I am a Meguiar user especially the NXT line of products for years. I like the way it shines and gives a deep color to my cars (I have 3, 2 blacks and a white one). I am not really a newbie when it comes to detailing. I use clay, paint cleaner, polisher (Megs DC1 and 2) and wax (NXT). i use an orbital polisher too.

I am in the Philippines and the weather here is hot and humid (35 deg celsius at this time of the year). I've got good experience with Megs NXT Generation Wax but I find it wanting when it comes to longevity. About 2 weeks ago, I detailed (wash, clay, DC1 and 2, NXT wax) my black Honda Civic. It was a sunday and was garaged until tuesday. I left it in the office on wednesday (exposed to the elements, sun and all but no rain) and took it home on friday. I inspected the paint and it looks as though there is no longer any wax left. I washed it with NXT and yeah, most of the wax have evaporated.

I decide to try other products and my research led me to Carlack68 (AIO and sealer glaze). Wow! The best so far! It doesn't deepen the color the way NXT does but I'm satisfied. The shine it brings is incredible. It definitely lasts a lot lot longer than NXT.

I have a few question though:

-After about 3-6 layers of carlack SG, is it okay to top it off with NXT Generation Wax or should I use Mother's Pure Carnauba Liquid Wax instead? I think NXT wax has some cleaning properties.

-Is it okay to use Black magic's QD to remove dust? Will it affect carlack SG?

I have limited choices when it comes to acquiring detailing products here in the Philippines so I'm quite limited to the above products.

Thanks.

I have attached some pics of my car with Megs NXT applied. I also detailed the engine using CarPlan's Engine "NV". I'll post some next time with carlack68 on its surface.

looks great!! NXT is good stuff! Black is hard to keep looking shiny but it sure does look good when it's freshly waxed. Nice job on the motor too.

Thanks!

I used NXT paste wax. It really is a good wax especially for a black car. It deepens and darkens the color although it doesn't last long. Maybe it's just too hot out here.

As for the engine, CarPlan's Engine "NV" is an AIO. It degreases, cleans and seals. I applied it to a warm engine, let it sit for about 5 minutes. Rinse with water and allow it to dry then applied it again and allowed to dry. When dried, it seals the sprayed surface with a very dry and shiny film protecting it from dirt/dust and making the next detailing job easier.

I have the Carlack68 AIO and SG in my car for about 6 days now. I'm impressed. It's quite different compared to NXT when it comes to enriching the car's color (I like NXT in this regard) but the shine is awesome and it looks like it will last a lot longer.

I'm planning to detail my white car. Will these steps be alright?

1. Wash with NXT

2. Clay

3. Wash with NXT

4. Apply Megs Deep Crystal System Cleaner

5. Apply Megs Deep Crystal System Polish

6. Carlack AIO

7. Carlack SG

Is step 5 still necessary?

Thanks for looking guys!

amf, I was just in the Philippines this past November visiting family in Pasig City. While I was there, I kept my eyes out on what detailing products they had to offer there and it only seemed like only a few of the shops in the Promenade had decent stuff. From your pictures, you car looks great!

So what part of the Phil. are ya from?

Hi Denzil!

South of Manila.

Yeah, limited choices when it comes to car detailing stuff. A few Megs and Mother's here and there and the prices are almost always double! I bought the carlack stuff in a specialty shop. I guess I just got lucky.

Stay safe!
