Newbie-help with AIO/SG

Do you use AIO to remove the wax before applying again SG?

I don't use wax myself, but there is a fairly broad consensus that SG will not properly bond to wax.

AIO will remove the wax and the SG, too. I don't think there is a reliable way to remove just the wax ...

A final layer of wax probably does give you a depth and warmth that SG alone will not, and you could probably have a very nice look with 2-3x SG for protection, then maintain with a good wax every couple of weeks.

My purely personal preference is 3x SG and maintain with Sonus Spritz, refreshing with SG or Sonus Glanz as time allows. You may give up some depth, but you can easily go 6 months without applying new sealant.

... but ... if it's a 6 month old car, and you're going to do an AIO step anyway, it may not be essential to clay...

Hmmm.. I have a 2 month old sienna, and will be claying this weekend. IMHO, I think you should clay from the get go, even when it's new. Feeling the paint on my Sienna, I do notice contaminents (with the ziplock back trick). I am assuming most of this is from rail dust since the Sienna is made in Indiana.

Primer to anyone interested -> Most people don't realize that when they see trucks with brand new cars on it, the truck is actually coming from the port and on it's way to the dealership, its the last leg of transport. The port handles incoming and outgoing rail and boat. So let's assume a car is coming over from Japan. It hops on a huge boat (4000+ cars), gets delivered to a port in the US, lets say Long Beach, CA. From the port they add any "port options" and fix any scratches/dings from the ocean faring travel. The cars are then loaded onto trucks (for regional delivery) or trains for out of region locations. The trains are just hollow cars (only has side walls and roof, and are open in the front and back). So any crap (eg rail dust) can be kicked up onto all the cars. Domestic cars are the same, except there's no boat involved. <- Primer to anyone interested. :)

Well, I just ordered some Sonus clay from the Autopia site along with a bunch of other new Sonus products. As soon as I get the clay, I'll start the AIO/SG process. I'll try and post a pic when I'm done.

THANK YOU to all of you!!!
