I was trying to take out some water spots and made a mess. I used ZPC and a white and orange pad nothing just a mess. I then used OC and a orange pad bigger mess hazing, alot. So I bought menzerna IP and FPII to try and clear up my mistake. Any suggestion on pad selection and how to use these products properly. It seems that I did not use the other products properly. Thanks.



I almost forgot I used a PC
 
You are using the correct pads and products for the job IMO. I would think the problem lies in technique. My guess is you are not working the products long enough, and thus the abrasives are not given enough time to break down. If you work the products longer you should find the hazing that you are seeing decrease significantly with the OC, and the ZPC should leave nothing but a great shine if worked properly.



Also, be sure you are using enough pressure on the PC (enough to bog the machine down a bit). Slow passes are also crucial (1 - 2 inches/Second).

I fully agree with everything VTechFan02 suggested, except for this statement ^^^. I don't suggest using much pressure, it creates a lot of heat, can lead to destroyed pads, and even cause paint damage if done wrong.



I like to use the weight of the machine, plus a tiny bit more, that's it. Let the machine do the work, that's what it's for. Just take your time, and work each area thoroughly.
 
Jdookie, thank you for correcting me. I am still learning as well and have read in a few places that moderate pressure should be applied for defect removal. I have to say you are right though. I did destroy one of my pads.

Even with a PC??? I never had a problem with my PC going that slow and a small amount of pressure.
 
Thanks guys. I will try the menzerna FPII with a white pad if that doesn't work then I will go with IP and a orange then FPII with white. Does that sound good? How is menzerna to work with? I have never used it before.
