Hello,
I am a newbee to this site. I was refered to Atuopia.org by someone at the Aston Martin Owner's Club site. Though I have spent a lot of time in the year's past detailing my own cars, I never checked online for help before. What I have gathered from this site already has really opened my eyes. Thanks for all the great information.
I have a 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera, which in 2000 was my dream car. It is black with a black interior. I am working on detaling it so I can sell it. So reading the posts on this site are very helpful. I have heard in the past of the many steps it takes to do the exterior correctly, e.g., using clay, but never have followed them before.
I also want to look through the threads for cleaning the leather interior correctly. I know of one product to re-condition the leather, however, I am sure this site will tell me the best product to use and the steps involved.
In addition, in a couple of months, I have a new Aston Martin DBS arriving. It is the black onyx with black interior. The black onyx paint has silver chips in it so when it is out in the sun, it has a great glow to it. Also, when you sit in a DBS you get a great smell of leather. I sat in a 3 year old DB9 and it still had a great leather smell to it. Hopefully somewhere on this site I'll be able to find out how to: a) keep the black interior looking great, and b) keep the smell of leather, and not the smell of some chemical.
Lastly, I have a 1993 Lexus 400 LS, champagne color. I have had it for a few years and want to detail it out completely. I have seen a fully detailed light colored LS 400 with a deep shine to it so I know it is possible.
If I don't find what I am looking for in posts, I'll ask. Don't worry, I'll search first. No one likes someone asking the same old questions time and time again.
Thanks. :dance
