Welcome to the forums! Anyone can learn something new here, there is tons of info on AF.

Welcome to AF. Your username is familiar to me though I can't place it. Do you frequent Ford or Gun forums?

:welcome: To Autopia Forums Grumpy! :bigups

The Grumpy I'm familiar with is over on the Corvette Forum...

Sounds like there is a lot of Grumpy's out there. Either fortunately or unfortunely I am none that were mentioned. I live in St. Louis Mo. and frequent auto shows sometime showing off my 72 Olds. convertable. I recently purchased a BMW and would like to know if there is a product to protect the wheels from brake dust and make cleaning easy? I am sure a lot of BMW owners have asked this question.

Nearly all factory wheels are clear coated these days but the clear used is much harder or much more durable than that of the body's finish. Considering the torture they typically see I think you can see why...

I've tried the 3 listed here and noticed at least a 50% reduction in brake dust. This combined with a soap and water wash, no harsh wheel cleaners, then rinse leaves the wheels sparkling clean.

Two of the products I've listed are sealants and the other is a hard permanent coating.

Poorboy’s World Wheel Sealant
Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 Permanent Paint Coating
Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax No. 845

Thanks for the info. But have a question the service rep at the BMW dealer said that he uses ArmorAll wheel protector and had good luck. Have you had any experience using the product? I looked on the net and ArmorAll has a short video and looks like it works great but the video was made by ArmorAll which it should look and work great.

By the way how do you get spell check on the reply. Comes in handy at times.

I've used the AA wheel protectant, it works great for those rims that dust alot.

I've never personally tried Armor All Wheel Protectant but have heard it works OK.

I use Mozilla Firefox which incorporates a built in spell check....thank God!!!

Ditto on the Firefox and spell check. I'm pretty sure IE has the same function however. Might just be a matter of either turning it on or installing the dictionary.

There are two ways to use spell check. Either go advanced at the bottom of the window and then you will see it off to the right or you can go to tools ieSpell from the tool bar in IE.

I don't have personal experience with the ArmorAll wheel protectant, but have read reviews both ways.

Spell check is in the top, right corner over the smileys. (Go Advanced to get the option.)
